    Hello guys,
is there a company that makes finned valve covers for a Ford 302? I know Edelbrock does, but they're expensive, and if I'm gonna be paying that kinda money for them I dont want their goofy logo in the middle of 'em.

    Thanks

you can get finned "cobra" valve covers from a lot of different mustang places. There's occationally old finned CalCustom style covers on Ebay, but get ready to pay good money for them.

Allright, thanks guys. I checked out Speedway and they have some pretty nice ones. Not exactly cal-custom style like I was looking for but maybe it'll do.

Are you thinking of the Chevy Cal Customs? Fords won't look like that because of the shape of the heads. I have a squared off set of Keystones from the 60s and it's hard to tell right away it is a sbf, but good luck finding a pair...

Yeah, I kinda wanted the Cal Custom look off the SBC's and BBC's on a Ford, as close as possible at least. I can always run an SBC in my T but I kinda like to stick to "put a Ford in your Ford".

I'll keep checking on e-bay and I didnt check out Moon yet.

Wow, they look nice....I guess you got 'em of e-bay?

I'll look into Offy, I dont wanna spend too much money though, I'm on a super tight budget ($2.5k for the whole rod)

I found these that mooneyes offers

    http://69.20.111.53/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=494

but the price tag is pretty heft....maybe if I have money left over at the end:( If I were to get them I'd feel so bad painting them though, since they are all nice and polished.

By the way, has anyone tried the carb adapter that bolts onto a stock 4-barrel intake and holds 2 Stromberg 97's or two 94's? Seems like a neat setup for $99.

I saw too many finned covers, so I got some mustang aluminum valve covers and am mounting Packard body script on them and then powdercoating them, ya gotta be different!!!!!!!!!!

I have the Offy's and they are sweet! Here is a pic- also those art deco-ish Mustang 5.0 covers can be had cheap and look really good in a fat fender ford even more so if you have a set of art deco dash knobs to pull it together.

  18. Seems like I find early Cal Customs at every swap meet we go to. I bought the ones in the pic at Bowling Green (Hot Rod reunion)...a little pricey at $110.00, but they are ceramic coated and in perfect condition. I have several other sets that cost me between 65-85 $$. i like the big fins, some people like the shorter fin with the narrow spacing.

I bought a set ( Cal Custom ) off E Bay painted semi-gloss black. I then sanded the top edge of the ribs to bring back the aluminum. They look great.....Kidd
