TRW / Toledo # L965F Piston ID??? Hmm?

I found a box of old TRW Toledo pistons. There's four of them and they are # L965F. They have 4 rings and they are 3.25 inches in diameter. I have 2 TRW books and a couple old Badger books, but I can't find an application in either one. Does anyone have a book with this in it?

Thats gotta be a pretty old number, my oldest TRW catalog is from the late seventies, that number doesn't show in the numerical list in the back. I show a #912 listed for a '39-'48 mercury flathead and a #939 for a '54-'65 Jeep 6, so this is probably a piston that was first issued a long time ago.

I tried looking through the progressive size listing for a 3.25 bore 4 cylinder piston, all I found was a 3.25 piston for a '51-'59 Dodge 230 six, so that doesnt help much.

 

Once a partsman, always a partsman. tried the progressive size chart for rings, just showed the same Dodge 6. So I tried something else, looked for 3.25 bore 4's in the torque specs table in the back of the catalog, found several.
Case, Waukesha, Minneapolis-Moline, International Harvester, Hercules, and Chrysler Marine. Looks like you have a set of tractor pistons. Hope this helps.

Well I too have exhausted all of my resources only to come up empty handed as well.

Federal Mogul was useless. Ever since the moved the piston manufacturing to India and fired all the good people they are very difficult to get any tech information from.

I was even able to dig up a old 1978 TRW catalog and nothing.

Anyway, from the onset I had speculated that they were for some sort of industrial engine based on the specs.

Sorry that I could not get more specific.
