I'm switching to tempered glass too. Currently there is laminated glass in the doors but drivers side is cracked. Originally they were just plain glass right?

I will have to try adjusting some more since I don't really like how hard I have to slam it.

Yes the side glass was just plate glass. Talking about glass I replaced all the glass with a bronze safety glass when I built this one. I tracked the truck down a few years later and talking with the guy he said that he replaced all the glass. I said it was only a few years old. He said it couldn't be...it had a 34 Penna inspection sticker on the W/S. I said yeah I know. I paid 15 bucks for that decal and put it on myself.:D

That should be just an adjustment of the striker plate in the jamb.

Adjusted the striker plate after spending lots of time breaking the rusted screws loose. Flat blade screws are useless. However after adjust that and some more minor tweaks in the latch itself the door now closes with minimal effort and a nice "click". Spent the rest of the evening digging out the remnants of the old seal across the bottom of the door. Rubber was again hard as a rock since it was probably the original. I like working on old trucks :)

I always start on the screws with one of these impact screwdrivers. If you don't have one, get one. I use a "Bernzomatic' type torch to warm up the dried up rubber and an old screwdriver to get the old rubber out.

Here I am searching for 32 frame info and I come across your thread and this little comment. I haven't laughed so hard for a long time! BUT now I have to search Kevinsrodshop as well as everything else just to keep tabs on YOU! :D:D
