Now this may sound odd or maybe not. I seen a guy had used door lock mechanism from a VW rabbit in his model A pick up doors. He had adapted the mechanism to his stock door handles and fitted the stricker pin to the door frame. Did an awesome job and closed nice and secure.

I thought of using a similar set up on my T coupe once I get to that point. Mainly for safety.

I don't see why they would pop open if your body is well built. Try it first before you go to Ace Hardware.

My dad always beat into me to not lean on car doors, problem solved

  8. My latches are so tight on the track roadster that I have to use the handle to open the latch to close the door. Besides that though I couldn't fall out through that door opening on a bet.

My p***enger door would constantly pop open on bumps...which constantly pissed my wife off. It was one of her two rules that she had while i built the car - 1) She has to be able to drive it (no manual ******), and 2) the doors must not pop open.

1 out of 2 wasn't too bad. New striker plate from speedway solved the problem though. The original one was somehow or another banged up and couldn't latch properly. You could close the door, push, pull, shake, rattle, kick, and cuss, and the door would not come open, but the first minor bump you hit on the road.....whoops...there it goes.
