No, not talkin about A's. 53 Chevy finally got a bed. My neighbor deals in exotic storm wood- asked him to rout up some wood for the 53. Got fine Macheche for cheap and finally installed it. A real bi*ch - but advance design guys know what I mean. Should have been at Infineon watching the NASCAR. Special thanks to Bimbo for layin with me while I installed impossible bolts. It's TOO NICE for my POS...
hey is that you in the picture man you look a bit tired...LOL nice work on the bed looks really good!!!
Put about 5 coats of Spar Marine on it. Lightly sanded between each coat. I'll let anybody who cares how it holds up. BTW - this wood is some of the most dense in the world - sands like steel, weighs about 3 times as much as oak.
That dog is stately - I like him. The truck is dirty - I dig it. Nascar on a road course? You are in some poor poor company if Rusty Wallace and Scott Pruett are the only guys on the track that can hit an apex.
Damn, *****en truck and the bed came out killer. I need to do the same for mine - so thanks for the inspiration. Oh, and I'd definitely be interested in hearing how the finish holds up. -murph
WOW my other obsession is woodworking, and i LOVE when wood and steel meet like that. CLEAN and well done. spar urethane is a good choice for a bed like that. stuff wears like iron and flexes a bit so it wont crack like regular polyurethane NICE JOB
I love your Leopard. They were supposed to be the settlers dog. They would go catch supper for the wagon trains. Thanks for sharing. The truck bed is sweet!
looken good im a floorsander polisher and have used the same material on a timber cruiser about 6 years ago and its holding up well in the conditions its used in. i.e sun and salt water cheers barnsey
The wood looks great. It give's me inspiration to replace the home depot plywood I have in mine! I like the stance of the truck too.
Yeah- I love my dog- he trees ra****s in my backyard all the time. Here are the specs for making your own bed wood for advance design trucks. http://www.chevytrucks.org/tech/bedwood.htm
