Flathead Pic Request - show me your flaty's and engine bays

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Psychobilly Boi, Jun 26, 2005.

  1. Hey Crew,

One of the things that ****s me most about my ride is the dogs breakfast in the open engine bay. Wires, gaffer tape, fuel hose, there is **** everywhere. Was wondering if you could post some pics of flatheads in open engine bays (hoodless roadsters, coupes etc) im looking for ideas on how to route the wiring for the front end as well as the fuel system. I'll be running a mech fuel pump as well so looking for neat ideas there.

    Thanks!!!

    Danny

No one does a better job of flathead engine compartments than these two, Vern Tardel . . .

man every time i think about orderin up a set of aluminum heads for my 8ba i see another clean as hell motor with the stock cast heads and rethink things a bit... nice mills all of em but there is something about the simple look of Henry's own castings aint there? :D

Here's mine...Brake line is routed inside the framerail and headlight wiring runs right along side. Generator wires are ran through a cut down sparkplug loom from an earlier motor. Fuel line looks kind of lame - I have a fuel block I need to install.

Awesome looking motors, thanks. Don't know how to post but my engine was posted on the Ford Flathead site, so I must have did a pretty good job. I'm no Vern Tardel though. :D

Wow - I gotta get working on mine - to bad I don't have the funds to do anything to it. Hell - still gotta rip it a part and see if it's anygood. I'm saving it for a model A sedan - still need an engine for my 38 dodge.

    Good topic - great pics!

It looks to me like the factory bronze engine color found on a 1950 Ford Sedan.
