I have a resto-modded '39 Buick that is near completion and would like to put wide whites on it to keep the original look to the outside of this modern suspension, steering, engine/trans, disc brake, coilover, stock-height sedan.
I had old 29" tall Remmington 4" wide whites on it and liked the look. I have checked Coker and Diamondback and can't get radials larger than 3.5", and even though it sounds picky, that size looks like they belong on a newer '50s type car and look small on a '30s car. So I can't get radials apparently. But when I look for the 700x15 bias ply replacement at Coker they are only available in tube type, not tubeless.
Has anyone had this problem and found a tire that is large whitewall and tubeless?
    Thanks

    also...the radial size is 235x75R15

    Airbrushguy,

The radials are going to be a compromise. You get a better ride, but the whitewall can’t be as big as a bias due the way a radial tire is designed and built. If you want the wide white but in tubeless, consider our Firestone 8.20-15. It is 29.56” tall, 8.35” wide and has a 4 ¼” whitewall and is tubeless.

  3. I am working on a '48 lincoln Continental right now that has 4" wide whites, from diamond back. They put the white walls on them selves and will make them any size you want. You have to order them as opposed to getting them off the rack but you can get them in 4" wide if you like.

I asked (aka begged) them to make me 4"ers. They told me the biggest they had was 3.5. I spoke to Richard...is there someone I should ask for specifically? And what brand radial were they put on?
    Thanks

What's the widest whitewall you make in a 28-29 inch radial?

How much are these and where can they be purchased?

  10. I'll look when O go back up to work on the car again later this week. they advertise right in their book that they will make them any way you want them. There is a high zoot guy that I saw featured in one of the magazines lately with whitewalls that go almost all the way to the edges of the tires and they say his came from diamond back.

    That would be a 235/75R15 Coker with a 3 1/8" whitewall.

The 820-15 Firestone with a 4 ¼” whitewall are $245 each. You can call us, 1-800-251-6336, or order online at www.Coker.com.

Jess H - whether or not someone buys your product or not, it is good to see vendors jump in with possible solutions to questions/problems. of course, it would be nice if people would check Alliance Vendor section here for products that they are looking for.

Depends on what tire size your running as to how wide the whitewall is.

235/75R15 look massive with 3 1/2" WW on them. Problem also is that you HAVE to run higher air pressures in the Extra Wide White radials. If you don't your running on the whitewall and that compromises the whitewall.

I have in the past sold the DB EWW 235/75R15 tire with a 3 3/4" WW. PM me.
