    Alchemy-
Yes the seats are very comfy. When we were looking for seats, we went to our friend's junk yard (Tony Piner). As we tried out the different seats, the criteria was simple:
    #1 size
    #2 comfort

Back then price didn't matter. Everything we got from Tony was FREE. That's why his name is on the sedan. Tony was generous with many people and helped me with every car I had owned while he was in the "Wrecking Business".

Thanks for your comment. It helped remind me of Tony!

  2. That's too funny. I thought the exact same thing when I was removing them. The car was white with the blue stripes down the rockers and on the hood, roof, and deck. Just like the Charlie's Angels car.

I just couldn't bring myself to do a "sniff-check" on the seats, though. I recall one episode where Bosley borrowed their car, and that kinda ruined the whole moment.

Well, if it was ever driven by the dark haired one ( can't remember which that was...) I wouldn't be able to help myself!

DRD57 referred me to the right guy near Fresno who has the top we need. I just have to figure out how to get it here.

Rick, awesome rebuild/recreation of an icon. If you have never been to Turners, I recommend you just get in that white pickup and go get it...you better be prepared to spend all day there though ........ some Kiwis come all the way from New Zealand to go to Turners..... it's only 8000 miles... Well we do a bunch of other stuff too , but Turners Wrecking yard is high on the priorities list.

Sounds like I do need to go. Does he let you wander around the yard or stand at the front desk with binoculars?

I've been there asking for some old parts from several different cars and he let me wander the yard. Other times he sent me out with a yard guy in a yard car to a specific area to wander around or to instruct the yard guy on exactly which parts I wanted.

Cruising around the yard in a yard car is an experience in itself.

There is nothing better than cruising around a bone yard!

I've purchased a rear window garnish molding and door latches and I am awaiting their arrival. Started stripping the hood and Pete has started on the roll bar. I should have pictures soon. Also we received our blank hood sides from Rootlieb (same as we used originally) and when the top is finished, all 4 pieces will go to Eric Vaughn. I know, I know, they may be there forever.

I am going to say something that many of you already know. Without the HAMB and the HAMBERS, this project would be taking much longer. Some of you are very generous with the donations of parts and donations of time to track down the parts. Most importantly is the giving of your knowledge so freely. I hope the younger HAMBERS pick up the spirit of this and p*** it along to their peers instead of trying to compete with them and keeping valuable sources "TOP SECRET". That's not how our hobby started and that's not how it should be!

I know I sound like a broken record, But thanks again everyone!!!!

Will the sedan be at the Petersen next week in some form and rolling? I hope so.

    Lynn-
The sedan will not be at the Petersen next week. Our new target date is Father's Day at Pomona.
We have been making a lot of progress lately and I will be posting pictures tomorrow.

Garnish molding found-Thanks to Gary at Cornhusker Hot Rods.
Here are some pictures of the rear spreader bar. Thick side mounting plates are threaded so we don't have to mess with nuts. This will also serve as the rear mount for the tow hitch.

Timing is everything! Here is a picture of the finished headlight mount. Pete uses the cup parts off of a Model A headlight bar instead of a 32. Model A headlight bars are less expensive and easier to find. Just another way to keep the costs down.

This is the switch panel that attaches to the dash tunnel. It holds the key switch, light switch and the roll control light goes on the left.

As was posted earlier, this is exactly what keeps me coming to the HAMB. I usually take a quick look daily, then on to projects on hand. I have looked at this thread when it started, then it kind of just blended in, if you know what I mean. This morning the projects have not gotten done while I read all 39 pages. What a thread, thanks for including the HAMB in your build. I am subscibed now.

    okiedokie-
    Thanks for the kudos.

I am going to go pick up the top Saturday morning at the junk yard. I can't do an 8 plus hour drive in one day any more so I am going to drive up Friday afternoon and come home on Saturday. Anybody know the hotels in that area or a good restaurant for Friday night?

Also, here are the roll bar pieces ready to go in and be welded together.

I'm picking up the sedan today from Pete's. It's looking pretty complete . I'll post pictures after I pick it up this afternoon.
I started to strip the hood for Eric to louver. Half done, half to go! By the way, DON'T use the cheap latex or nitrile gloves. The nitrile ones expand and open up and the latex ones let the stripper right through.

Rick, you could have asked me about the gloves. Go to Home Depot and get the heavy duty blue ones, they keep the stripper out and aren't too ***bersome. Oh, by the way, you obviously have gotten much older than me cause I can still do an 8+ hour drive in one day.

Heck, skip the Aircraft stripper all the way and go with a 3m stripping disc on a 4 1/2" grinder... Easy and about a quarter of the time plus it kills rust too.

    Hey Rick,

I just got off the phone with my buddy Ron Olmstead, who p***ed a messege to me for you from Steve the Galaxie guy up in Kingman... Seems he just had a perfect roof donor station wagon come in this weekend. Don't know if you still need or not.

Okay Dale...8 hour drive is no big deal? Bring your wife and I'll take you out to dinner at the restaurant of your choice in Fresno.

Need louvers...thanks for the info but I am already picking up the top in Fresno on Saturday.

Rick, I'll tell you what. It takes us about 9 to 9 1/2 hours to come down there. You can buy us dinner next time we are in your area.

Dale- That sounds good to me!

Anybody have a lead on good, original 39-48 front brake drums and backing plates?
