Well............. We drove about 70 miles from home when the only thing I never deramt about would give us problems did... The new exhaust system that we had made for us, in a NJ Exhaust shop burned a hole in the bottom of the bed, so we lost all our closes our boots and the roof was burned so it couldn't be used.. Pretty scary since the fire wad only a couple of inches from the gastank. After putting the fire out with Yuengling Lager, we stuffed all the things back in the bed and drove back to Jersey and had the shop redo the pipe over the rear so there would be safe enough distance between the exhaust and the bed, Cindy my wife went shopping for new closes and boots while the car got ready. So 8 hours later we were on the road again heading for Indianapolis. A couple of hundred miles down the road, allmost at the end of Pensylvania, we discoverd that the left leafspring was broken 'bout an inch from the mount. Well I guess it was it's time. We looked at it and desided that it would be OK to continiue our trip. What a blast finaly reaching our destination Well I guess what we learned from that expirence is, not to trust anybody to work on our car without supervision. (except Smitty and John B) Klaus (happy to be around)
Damn Klaus! That ****s about your exhaust and the fire. It could have been way worse. What's almost as big a tragedy as losing the clothes and boots to the fire is losing that wonderfully satisfying, ice cold Yuengling lager to flames as well...that **** is good!!! That show looked like it was a good time, it's cool when the police are on your side of a change!
Yah me too. I had some ****py luck got 4 hours into Wisconson and broke a rod and punched a 3 inch by 2 inch hole in the side of my block. We did get there in the Saturn, but we didn't stay at the car show long just too depressed I guess . Did get to see most of the cars though and chatted with Django for a while. Glad you didn't lose everything.
Looks like I missed ALL the fun on friday night. Going to have to get a room next year. Glad you made it through Klaus. That could have been ugly. Post a pic of your truck for us!! We should have had a hamb meet and greet.
Klaus - thanks for introducing me to Yuengling Lager, never had it before. Great meeting you and your wife. The pool was THE PLACE to be on Friday - Tiki bar, Del spinning. I even bought a suit @ the hotel so I could swim (found out later that I needn't haven bothered since I got thrown in w/ my clothes on). Any pics of the "Frog" song? Dez
Here she is between the red '56 and the brown pick-up, and the other one is when we had to take cover in a gas station when it was pouring rain (no Roof remember) Klaus
that's scary. Glad it worked out. Middleskewl, I was the guy in the straw pork pie hat with the group that asked you what color your yellow was. I didn't realize that was your car. Sorry I missed the burnouts.
good thing you ALWAYS have yuengling with you when you travel, huh? klaus, give me a call when you're ready to tear into the truck... i'll come over. tred.
Ya had to bring that up didn't ya!! So her goes our reputation!! Well here's a couple of them. I even have one of a dude walking on wather!!!! It's amazing what you can do when beer is involved. And look WHO else I had!
Your reputation can only be enhanced by teaching Kenosha Joe the frog dance. We'll see if we can get him to do it for us again (maybe @ the Cheaters show?). Thanks for that lovely photo. I don't think I've ever looked better!
it was good to meet you and cindy friday night. i'm the guy with the channeled 46 ford. glad you made it back ok.
