Were to get radiator hoses for 34 Ford- stainless?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Feb 3, 2012.

  1. This may sound really stupid, but were are guys getting their upper radiator hoses for 32-34 Fords with center outlet heads? I want to run a stainless pipe with two short 45 degree angle curved hoses at each end. I can get the stainless, but what about the hoses? I know I can go to a parts store and buy a hoses with a correct bend and cut it...but I need 4 total and a lot of hoses are 20.00 bucks or so. It can get spendy quick! The other trick is the head side will need to be 2" to 1 3/4". Anyone have any pointers??

Chris, I did something similar to what you're talking about, except I just needed straight ends. I did need that step down like you, it goes from about 2" down to 1 3/4". I had to buy 4 hoses at $17 a piece.

I'm not sure of anyone offering formed ends, though it would be nice.

I have been getting mine at Home Depot. Go to the plumbing section and find the drain tubes they are chrome plated brass.

  7. Yeah, I saw those...they would work but I would have to cut em a little and still find the radiator side rubber hose. 33-34 water outlets dump strait out of the bottom of the tank. Those hoses are for outlets shooting strait out the back of the tank twards the firewall.

Are you buying the stainless tubes already setup or are you buying some pieces of stainless tube and having someone make them up?

As far as the hoses, it's probably cut elbows out of longer hoses unless you can find the right short hose such as maybe a large bypass hose.

I can't find the ticket from when I originally bought my radiator hose and can't find an other one like it.

  13. OK, so just to follow up, this is what I used...bought some stainless 37-39 standard hoses and just cut the upper part off. Got some hose the right angle at work. Worked very good!

They are just mocked up in this pic, thats why the head side looks to be leaning forward a tad.
