http://www.cl***iccarsofsc.com/ My brother in law is looking at an o/t car there and was wondering if anybody ever dealt with them or lived nearby that wouldn't mind making a trip to check it out?
I've been to the place they like to gouge folks, I wouldn't recommend them. All I can say is be very very careful.
Thanks for advice. The car had been "repaired and repainted" which always scares me unless I can look at it personally.
i second what merlin said. I wouldnt recomend it. every time i ever went out there to walk around and see what he had, they werent too freindly and wouldnt budge on prices at all and the prices were way high for what they had. just my .02
From their inventory list, kinda high prices for a junkyard. Finished Model Ts are bringing about 1/2 of their project price.
Don't buy a car without personally inspecting it. I never thought I would do it but made the mistake last year. The person I bought the car from LIED about everything--every question I asked him. Not sayng they would, but don't take the chance.
I've been out there twice, and the owner and one of the guys working there were very nice and they even walked us around the yard the first time. Now some of his stuff was a little over priced but he said to me that he would take any fair price. In his words "what can I do to make my junk your junk". A plus is that just about every car out in his yard has a ***le. But don't take my word for it, everyone has their own opinion.
A carnival, snake oil salesman has a better reputation ... Do not walk away ... RUN ... You can tell when he is lying, HIS mouth is moving. .
That's probably because one of his former scams was selling ***les thru Hemmings. Pretty much sums it up right there. Anyone else remember those "turn your MG Midget into an abortion that looks sorta like an AC Cobra" kits he used to peddle? A product as cheesy as its seller.
I think there are a few threads on here and other boards about that place and the answers are always the same.
