As many of you know I have been building a car with my Dad for the last month. He is 81 years old and sharp as a tack I cant believe how much he knows about the old cars. He can remember everything right down to the smallest detail. The other day he showed up with some of his old tools and asked if I knew what they were? I told him no I dont, so he told me what they were. He has been bringing me tool like these every few days now. I love them and really like getting to spend this time with my dad as well as him being the best helper in the world on this project. Here are a couple of the tools he has brought anyone know what they are? also here is a link to the build http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666176 [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The one looks like a Spark plug hole stretcher for when you don't want to drill it for helicoil and the other looks like a left handed swiss watch winder...

Yea there feeler gauges. Dad said they used one for intake and one for exaust. They set the lifters on the old 216 and 235 solid lift cam engines all the time with the engine running. That causes the tip to get chewed so you used this kind of gauge and buy refills for it. The gauge material is very long and the excess is rolled up in the handle where it can be fed out as needed and cut off the chewed up end.:D
