Greating to all in the hamb! I'm now finaly starting on my 1941 Ford pick'em up that I have had since i was 14! Little history on this truck..It was orginaly owned by a concrete company in Horton Ks (my home town). It was my grand dads (Rest his soul) work truck that he carried his tools and fuel out to job sites that he operated a Cat dozer for them. when the upgraded to a newer for (a 1953 f1!) he bought the 41 from them for 75bucks. they used this truck from 53 till the early 70s...there is a pic of my grandma and all 5 kids in the truck going to the store! my dad ended up with it and did the engine swap from the 59a to a 8ba flattys...and mudded the hell out of the body...i dont know when the bondo gods came to the mid west but he went wild with the stuff! i showed intress in it when i was 13 and dad started getting rod and custom mags for me wich i still get today. when i got married, bought a house, had a kid, the wife said its time to get it going so we can enjoy it...i couldnt agree more! so far its down to nothing Frame is rotten in the kickups pluse the butchery that went on in the engin "swap" so im in the market as it were Flathead needs a full rebuild..its not frozen up but 3 valves are stuck open. cab floor and front and rear cab corners are swiss chesse. fenders..like i said before are just as much mudd as steel, bed gone....as in its gone...removed it ,,it was on a trailer in my driveway and a s****per removed it and sent it to the shreder...still havent figuerd out who it was and it would drag him around by his short and currlys whats good. short list all of the orginal interior party doors are ok steering wheel is not cracked so if there is any fellow hamber that have a pile of nos 40-41 parts ..like a frame let me know
Welcome from South-Central Kansas. I thought we only used bailing wire and duct tape in Kansas so don't ruin our reputation saying a Kansan used bondo. lol
