Me too. The roadster lost control after some ***** in another car hit him......then it says how the driver AND p***enger are in the hospital with minor injuries. Having an artery in you neck lacerated IS NOT a minor injury! That's basically having your throat slit. I hope he recovers quickly..........hopefully he won't suffer any brain damage from the shakin his brain took!

  4. That makes better sense. Trying to understand things on a Monday is not always easy for me or clear for that matter.

Here in Cali if you are certified you HAVE to help by State Law............I've got my medical providers certification and I ALWAYS stop and help no matter what it looks like!

    Kustom----it's okay, we understand!:D

When I went thru med school, the big deal was that by State law you HAVE to help. If you don't and they find out yer certified, then you get jailed for it. ON THE FLIP SIDE, if you help and end up not doing so well or the person dies.......then the family can sue you! It's a total catch 22, but I still renew my Medical Providers First Aid and CPR everytime it comes due again. I carry a full blown first aid kit in every car I own. You never know when you might need to plug an artery or dislodge something. I think EVERYONE should take both courses.

What you can read of the article makes it sould like the roadster owner lost control causing the accident. What's the REAL story? News reports are famous for blaming an accident like this on a "hot rodder, driving a hot rod"

life is worth more than any material possesion anyone acquires,

I certainly hope he pulls thru in good shape and all you guys can get together and build a new rig one day, but you got to be alive to do it

  15. Just got off the phone with my buddy.
Hes at home and doing fine.
He can walk for about 20 feet then hes sore and tired.
They took a one in shard of gl*** outa his head near his ear.
It had hit a major artery and vien.
They didn't operate till the next morning after he was stable.
This is what he said happened....

Was cruising down the two lane highway at about 60mph.The road was dry and it started to sprinkle.Just sprinkle a bit.
There was no cars anywhere around him at all.
This guy in a newer truck comes up behind him at about 90-100mph.And runs right in the back of him on the right rear.It sent them into the gr*** between the highway lanes. The gr*** was wet so there was no slowing it down.
His p***enger flew out of the car at some time before he hit the barrier.
Slim hit the concrete barrier on the other side of the gr*** and the car flipped over four times!
Sending him out of the car in the process.
He landed right beside the car in the oncoming lanes.
His buddy had a good leather jacket on and he was sent down the gr*** when ejected from the car and ended up sliding on the concrete too.
He ended up with severe roadrash even though he had his leather jacket on.
He got up and saw Slims roadster sitting upside down and ran to the car to see Slim sitting beside it.
He was bleeding really bad from his head near his ear.
A mining crew ended up right there in traffic and if it wasn't for them he'd prolly have died. They were the medics from the mine.
The guy that hit him took off but I guess his guilt got to him and he came back.
He told the cops that there was a big rig spraying rainmist everywhere and that he couldn't see the roadster.
Slim said hes a ****ing liar, that there wasn't any car let alone a rig anywhere around them.
And it wasn't raining until after the cops got there!
He figures theres not much left on the car to use except the HEMI and maybe the gauges.
Hes a pretty damn upbeat guy.
Says he'll build a 34 coupe or somethnig now.
    After he gets insurance money.
The cops have said the louse in the truck is 100% at fault.
Were gonna do some research and see if we can get some estimates on what it would cost to replace the car.
Hes not hung up on the car like some people would be.
Just happy hes in one piece.
Hes just about done his 48 chevy truck hes been building so he'll drive it till everything else gets figured out.
It was so good to hear his voice.

Oh yeah,in the hospital a few people have made smart*** remarks like "I guess you weren't wearing your seatbelts eh"
He replyed "**** no,if we were we'd be ****ing dead!"

Must of been a wild ride I said to him,
He replyed,"**** yeah but I don't remember much after it started flipping until I was on the stretcher"

He was bummed he missed our Island Invasion Hot Rod Weekender.

I guess we gotta find something else to cruise down to the HHR in now [IMG].......Shiny

First off the man is a bad *** and sounds like he has a great 'tude...if it was me I would be crying the blues over the car and *****ing about the pain. :(

Second, I am glad he made it out of it okay and wish him the best...that **** scares the hell out of me.

The hot rod god were looking out for him...after that ride I say he is a ruler!

I hope the turd that hit him gets to pay the bill.

Glad the jack*** in the truck had a conscience. Hopefully the money comes quickly to replace that beautiful driving toy, but I'm glad everyone's walking and chatting about it.

Damn, I slightly know what he went through, after being hit by a semi in my coupe leaving the 50th at B-ville in 98. All I can say is that I am glad I was in a coupe and not a roadster as I could not imagine rolling over in a roadster. Wow, unreal. Get well Slim. Try not to let the horroring sounds of the crushing metal and broken gl*** keep you awake at night.

damn glad yer pal is ok. that pic of the wreck is just disturbing. that jack*** in the truck ought to be in jail for causing the accident and THEN running away. *****! convenient story he came up with. guess it sounded better than the truth. he was talkin on his cell phone while searching for a CD under the seat and doing 100mph.
**** comes up in a hurry when your driving that fast. you have to be focused 110%. ofcourse you realy should'nt be driving that fast anyway, but who am i to talk  .

remember we lost Joplin to some jack*** driver on the freeway.

    glad he's ok at least.

Your friend's right though..........I saw a group of teens get into a jeep Wrangler with the half roll cage. The kids that were seat belted into the back seat were crushed when it rolled. If they hadn't of been, they would have had a better chance of being ejected and MAYBE surviving.

Glad he's up and about though, he's a definite survivor and deserves a little time off.;) :D

Extremely glad that he's gonna be ok. I'm not usually the one to say "you can build another car", but cars can be built, great friends cannot. Pulling for a speedy full recovery for him.

That crash having no fatalities is a miracle from God. Hope your friend realizes that...I lost my dad in a 1956 Corvette that wasn't nearly as demolished as that roadster.

I'm hoping that I don't sound like a total *** here... but that big flat plate-gl*** windshield was just itching to go cutting into someone in an "event". Does anybody install safety gl***?????? Or was the 1" shard from something like a dash gage??
