I have a 1964 Galaxie 500 convertible that I drive all the time, its a 352/auto cruise-o-matic. Anyways in the last month or so it has been ****ing ****** fluid up towards the carb and burning it there, making the car smoke like a train when its at idle, I thought I would just replace the modulator valve, but got under the car and I can't find one anywhere, has anyone else had this problem or know what I need to do to fix this problem??? Im not a mid sixtys ford guy, this is my first cruize-o-matic, thanks

I had that same car back in the mid 80s and it had the same issue ... I don't remember what trans I had (auto) but the modulator went right in the side of the trans ... problem solved. Good luck with your fix!

I'll take a stab at it...not knowing exactly what transmisison is in your car.
On my truck C-6 transmission the vacuum modulator is on the lower rear of the transmission, very close to the rear mount. You should be able to follow a small vacuum hose from the intake manifold "T" somewhere, probably connects to a small steel tube that is formed to follow the coutour of the bell, down the right (p***enger) side of the trans to the area near the trans mount where another short rubber hose should connect to the modulator.
Hope I'm somewhere in the ball park and it helps.

If I recall, there is also a pin behind the modulator. (The modulator should have a vacuum hose on one end) If you pull the modulator and catch the ****** fluid, make sure to retrieve the pin before you replace the new modulator. Running without one can burn up a trans...ask me how I know.
