There are some mentions of it here on the Hamb in the past but I figured new answers would be nice. So..

Anyone know of any place for GOOD chrome bolts? Not allen or stainless, but Chrome hex head? I need some for things like motor mounts, shock mounts, etc.. which are all chrome so I'd like it all to match.

Googling brings some up but does anybody have any opinions or secret places where there's better quality, grades, etc..

    Opinions?

    Thanks!

I know you are probably looking for a local tou you source but I use a local bolt store called King Bolt in Covina. They have a nice supply of the standard sizes.
Also OSH has a fair range on the racks.

One warning is that the typical plating is crappy and usually no copper just thin nickle and chrome so they spot corrode easily.

http://www.gardner-westcott.com/ is where we get our chrome stuff when we need it.

Totally Stainless has a good selection of ARP stuff instock as well if you want something a little higher strength. They go all the way to 5/8" diameter with the high quality/high strength stainless.

    AS said above http://www.gardner-westcott.com/

I have a dealer account with them, I can help you out if needed. They are a bit pricey but I use them all the time with the bikes.

I used to be a manager at a mom+pop old hardware store that was an ACE store...when I got the go ahead to bring in chrome we had Midwest Fastener's line, it was okay. I was rather impressed with the Servalite stuff and ended up carrying that later on...pricey but decent!

Yeah, buddy! Most ACE HW stores have a section, it seems. You could also try McMaster Carr.

I've used ACE Hardware as well, but if you can wait a few days, try ordering from the Bolt Depot in North Weymouth, MA. Good service, you can order on-line or via the phone, and you'll save a BUCKET of money compared to what ACE charges.

why not stainless? I buff bolts on my bench grinder with a felt wheel and some red rouge,it gets a nice shine and it will not rust.

I live a few minutes from the Bolt Depot, I got my acorns and washers for my flathead from them...Its just weird for me that you cant walk in a get what you want, you have to place an order ...the first time i walked out to my car , called and placed an order , then walked in and picked it up...oh well.

their quality is good, I did notice a few rust spots this winter on a couple nuts, but hey this is New England!

In case this matters, off the shelf chrome bolts usually have just the top polished and buffed. The flats of the hex will be plated as is so will be relatively rough. Having bols and nuts custom poilished/buffed/plated all over(more expensive) requires finding a plater who can and will do the work without messing up the size and shape of the hex flats.
