i like it, but i got a thing for buicks. reminds me of this one cadillac i saw before. late 50's maybe 59, but it was basically an el camino but they cl***ified it as a car cuz it had a trunk lid over the bed or some little technicality like that. anybody know any information on it? seemed like it would be a rare one.

I dig it. I've seen a lot of these El Camino conversions, this looks like a good one. The proportions are close at least. It looks like you could actually use the bed too.

Thats more like it! the back gl*** works with the car. The buick needs a wagon gate that works on it too. Granted that's a lot of work but it don't look right.

  8. It was also at the Roadster Show Sunday...

Looks like it might be a flower car conversion, for use at funerals. Not as common as he****s, but they are around.

That's what I was thinking. I think I'd make the top removeable if I had it....

Do you mean knock-off? I always ***umed the flower cars were conversions done by post production conversion companies (I could be wrong though), and this Buick looks more like someone trying to knock-off that look as opposed to an original flower car. The bed is way to short and they had tailgate from what I recall.

man, those things are hard to get right. . . most of them fail. seems like a lot of them slope the back of the cab too much because they just want to slide the rear of the sedan roof forward.

Since I got a extra 59 Buick front end I'm holding out for a 59 elco with front end damage to make make me a cheap "El Lesabro".

After the Rivi then the 59 hardtop thats my next project. I just cant decide if it would be better to use the Buick frame or the Chevy because it need to have a nailhead. Im trying for the path of least resistance.

somone built that, it dosent show many details of being from a coachworks, especiallly since every flowcar i have ever seen hs a bed lined in stainless steel.

My dad and I saw a pair of '64 Darts next to each other at a show; a convert parked next to a coupe that was pulled a little forward. We were amazed that it looked like it could work...

Holy **** you built that? it's beautiful man! A friend of mine took a more door 62 and converted it to a bubbletop I thought that was pretty amazing! We just picked up a rough 62 SS 327 that needs a re-doing. I don't know if we are THAT talented though :)
Do you have anymore pics of it? Can i post some in my picture gallery on my website?

    Thanks!

I guess you haven't seen very many then. A lot of the Cadillac's had aluminum like they use for door sills. And it's painted so it's hard to tell what's underneath...
