Trans trouble

    Please excuse my lingo but i have NO CLUE about auto transmissions


    I went to change the pump gasket in my ford c6 and when i pulled the pump off I guess things shifted foward in the trans so I pulled the smaller shaft out and can look through and see that a circular clip has fallin down...

    what Im getting at is can anyone send me a link to taking a c6 transmission apart from the front or can anyone explain what ind of trouble im in

    Find a trans guy, you won't get the unit back together with out wrecking things beyond repair. Phord trans are much more demanding of the person working on them compared to a Hydro or Torkflight. Some things are better left to those who are familiar and have a clue.

    try to stand the transsmission on the tail shaft and rotate the input shaft back and fourth with out the front pump out. the gear train should drop in place.if that doesnt work you might have to remove the front clutch housing becouse the trust washer might have droped out.

    Carry it to a trans guy. Cheapest way out.

    Been there, done that.
