What's the official name for the red paint you had the Nova shot with? I'm looking at paint on my gasser in a couple weeks, and that looks very close to the color I want done.

Its 1962 Chevrolet Nova Maroon Poly. Its a factory Nova color.
The maroon tone is nice and the "metalic" is actually a gold

Its FATMAT. I bought the 100sq ft kit on Amazon.I have no basis for compairison to DynaMat,but the FatMat was only 129.00 bucks.

    nice attention to detail......
I like gray for the inside/underside of race cars.
sd-20 will become one of your favorite products in a can.....it will take the rubber & petroleum products off of there just fine.

amazing car man!! Its so cool to see your wife so involved in this project. Your work is so clean and well thought out and it shows from post one of this thread. Now for a question, what brand sound deadener did you use , how much material and how much did it cost I ask cause its my next step on my lemans..
    Thanks
    Rick..

Thanx for the compliment and encouragement!!!
The sound deadner is call FATMAT.I dont have any means of comparison between it and DynaMat.But it was WAY cheaper. I got the 100sq ft kit that comes with the roller from Amazon for like 129.00.
I still have to do the roof and the doors, but I have PLENTY left.

So now that I'm back in town,I got some stuff done. I needed to make new ladder bars. Everything about the ones I originally made were bad. When I welded up the old ones,I didnt use a jig,so it shrunk and moved.I could get them in,but it made the left side preload so bad that the car LEANED.
I used it as a learning experience and made new ones.Much happier.
I also fully assembled the rear-end.New spring bushings and everything is finally bolted up in final assembly.

That new frame stub and axle looks really nice!
On a side note; I ended up looking at the Nova Maroon, but ran across a Corvette Dark Metallic Red I liked, so went with it!

Yea thats a great color too. We're kinda "pretending" the car came from the factory maroon, then the "race team" added the two tone silver.
It looks great in your avitar.Post up a pic,Id like to see it.

Before I left,I got the steering finished up.
And today,I made the wheelie bars.
I only posted the pic with Tara in it because she BEGGED me not to. It is bar far the worst picture ever taken of my wife.
But the expression on her face is because I was explaining why she needed the wheelie bars.............. :)
