Cooler needs pressure so water is pushed and circulated...thats where the water pump comes in.

Don't know for sure about the mounting, but those are 59 spears. The center emblem looks right for a 60; 59s had FORD block letters in a big window up front.

Well all the readin..posting and research along with some convincing from others I think im going to ditch the factory transmission cooler and go with an after market inline air cooled cooler. Im not sure which one to get and not sure where to get it. Also what all will I need? Where to mount it? If anyone here has done it on one of these trucks please help me out. Thanks

  11. I have always had good luck with a plate type cooler like the B&M models. I always mount them in front of the radiator where it has access to clean air.

I dont know...It just all these old timers are telling me to leave the original on. "id it wored before why wont it now" I mean new is better I guess but I mean im not going to be hauling anything or long haul drives either not am I going to be towing. Im just going to be using the truck to drive around town and to drive to work here and there that is only about 3-5 miles away.

Well a little more progress here on the truck. I have painted the front clip and rear clip of the frame with por 15 and came out really good. I also have the motor pretty much done, just trying to figure out if I should rebuild the oil pump or buy a new one. It came off a good running motor and isnt all sloppy or anything. Would it be good to just put a new mounting gasket and out it back on? Also looking for a distributor too.

if you're not rebuilding the engine then re-use the pump.

Ok getting ready to bolt trans to motor and drop them in the truck. Also I am planning to mount the bed aswell. All of this should all take place this week and ****on the rest up by the weekend. I do have a few questions too.

    1) Does anyone make a firewall to headlight wire harness for a 1960 f100? Also the harness from cab to tail lights (oem)

2)I am trying to get the trans as clean as possible wo I can bolt it to the bellhousing then bolt to the motor. Im having a hell of a time cleaning it. Also I dont want to get anything in the speedo hole or on the out put shaft.

    3) I am planning to mount the bed so what should I use to paint the underside of the bed floor? I have a little section done of rubberized undercoating but wanted to see what the best thing is to use also not too hard on the wallet either.

Try Sacramento Vintage Ford for the harnesses, I know they have some, not sure if that exact one however. The wiring to the rear taillights is pretty easy, you can replace that with a good set of crimpers or soldering gun.

it looks pretty clean. I dont know if you checked out vintage ford or not, but I was on their website yesterday and it looked like they had your wiring for about $40.
