I have had the 32 3W since about the end of January........and been playing with it as time and finances permits...... I took it to the cruise night last night at McDonalds in Anderson SC...... Mr. and Mrs. HRP were there.........and my Mrs. and the 3W too.....the little dog went too....... Had a good time..........we got there early..... Cannot be my car without at least one RED WHEEL...... I have changed the headlights and added a dropped original headlight bar, put on another hood, installed a original dash, glove box door and ash tray. Took the too big tires and rims off........and done a little cleaning..... Too be totally honest........ I hauled it to the cruise.....no engine.....IF the ch***is was a little less cut/butchered and NOT changed to open drive......I would just put a Flattie V8 in it and drive it like it is..... I was surprised at the looks it got....... Going to take it apart in 3 or 4 weeks........ Randy . .
Looks good. Even if it does not have a motor you can sit in it and go "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". Bet you have done it once or twice already.
The car looks great. I know the word "patina" is overused, but that car has it, and has earned it. It has that "I was parked for years but now I'm loved" look
Nothing wrong with showing off the new ride before it's under power. Might consider duct taping a paper towel dispenser to the headlight bar so people can mop up their drool while looking at it. Frank
Man, what a find. I love it. But you could at least put matching wheels on it if you're gonna show it off. What happens in 3-4 weeks?
I took up there on a " spur of the moment " deal.........so the rims did not match. In 3 to 4 weeks.........I will take the body off, unfill the cowl vent and start work on the ch***is. It is going to LOOK like this......except it will be Black with red rims........like my Roadster.... Or that's the plan...for now.....I am trying to buy a old peach car.....a 32 that was cut down into a peach field truck..........to haul peaches from the orchards. It has a great ch***is and a lot of goodies......IF I get it.......the 3W will go back as a old rod type.........39 trans, hydraulic 40 brakes, closed driveshaft and a dropped axle. AND ........NO paint/body work......just a beater.....
If your "buddy" that runs the ****** shop from up here was at the cruise, he would've had ****erflies in his stomach!!!!!
I have NEVER seen him there...........too many folks want to pull his arms off and beat him to death with them.......... Besides......he has two 32 3W's already........ .
Randy, is that Buster's 3-w ? If so, it's been repainted (again) ! That certainly looks like his shop. Your 3-w looks great, build up the ch***is, drop in an engine, and you're done ! Hope my 3-w is at least a body sitting on a rolling ch***is before yours is drivable...
NEVER drop a 327 in to that thing, unless it's one of Mark Kirbys new 327 flatheads, you'll ruin it for sure if you get lazy and drop a bow tie between those frame rails.
The Mrs. and myself drove the mor-door sedan to the cruse-in and parked beside the 3-window,,,, A lot of folks thought it was there for sale and even open the drivers door and looked inside,, there was one heavy hitter that knew what the car is worth and has the money to back it up and had to ask if it is for sale,,,but he was cool and he and Deuce talked a long time,,, I think the car got more looks than anything there,,, The car is stright and solid,,,,,this was the first time I have been able to touch it ,,,inside and out,,,,,,whatta nice body,,,, I would like to see Deuce get that peach flat and put the coupe back on the road as it sits,,,but knowing him ,,,,,,he does like the chevy powered fords! HRP
An original deuce three window, especially one as good as that, is too nice to leave like that as a "beater", if your gonna blow it apart anyway it definately deserves to be done up nice and right.
Geez Randy, You have to have a mean streak in you to torture all those guys...damn, I'll bet you're some kind of happy with it... you'll do it right however you do it.. I'll send you a pm... NFG where I am right now... Congrats... now... tell me where just one of the other 5 are that you know about and not the guy in upper state... Never got my 33....yea, yea, I know, but after twice being burnt, I just about want to steal it... and hell yes, I know that aint right either...
Very nice. 32 three windows are few and far between and a find like that is a rare one. I saw two completely stock three windows show up at two different car shows in Central California's San Joaquin Valley where I moved from. A couple of years apart, but it was interesting looking them over. I'd never seen a stock Deuce coupe before. There were several hot rod three windows running around town at the time and one of the stand out ones did not have a top chop. The car was built some time back and the original builder still drove it. That was the only hot rod unchopped three window I ever saw. Looked really good. It's funny to me that the first thing owners of 49-51 Mercs want to do is chop the top and the same is true of three window owners. Which, in the end makes these cars look like all the others of their ilk. Why not leave it un-chopped? Or chop it 1" - 1 1/2" at the most. Subtlety works and I'd rather set someone to thinking than have a car that looks like all the rest. Aside from all that personal preference stuff, the more I look at your Deuce roadster the more I think that full fendered is the way to go with the Deuce roadster. They seem to say something that the highboy roadsters don't. Not exactly sure of what it is, but sometimes I hear the Chrysler Hemi powered roadster from my past and looking at your black roadster brings back a lot of memories....
The coupe will not be chopped.......... It will be full fendered and black....with all the stock headlights, tailights, bumpers and stuff........ It will be exactly like the 32 Roadster but a 3W coupe and have A/C
