anyone have any pics of cokers big and littles on a tri five chevy? I have just got a nice set of big and little cokers and they are the 15" I have a 56 chevy wagon that I need a set of tires on, but didnt know if they would look stupid on this car, I have a matching set of 4 on it now, but they are bad, and I hate spend money on a new set, so I wanted to know what these look like on a tri five chevy if anyone has done this! thanks

I had Coker e78-14's on front and H78-14's on mine for a while. The rears are the biggest size they make in a 78 series. They were a nice size. The front's were a little small for my tast but you get the idea.

My old '55 had 205/70-15's on 6" wheels in front and 255/60-15's on 8" wheels in back. It had 2" dropped spindles in front and 1 1/2 coils cut out. The rear was lowered with 2" lowering blocks. That's about as low as you can get without getting into serious $$.

I folded the rear fender flanges up to prevent them from rubbing the tires. The only problem was that I had to disconnect a leaf spring to change a rear tire.

I was thinking about this the other day with my '54. I was thinking about 6.70's up front because they're pretty standard and then I was thinking about 7.10's out back because they're a little bigger and will fill up the rear wheel well and I can get them with the same size white wall as the fronts. Only thing is that it kinda messes up the whole spare tire thing if you're carrying one and the point of my '54 is not worrying about all the **** I would normally worry about with say my '35.

15 by 4" wheel,165/80/15 on front. 15 by 8" wheel, 245/60/15 on the back. Not exactly the "big and littles" that you think about on early cars, but I don't think that would look good on a tri 5 either...

Not sure how much contrast you are looking for between the bigs n littles. Granted these are slicks but they will be swapped out for a pair of hurst cheaters once i get it closer to finished.

Nope, All original. 15x8 with 3.75 back space and 275/60. Had to roll the lip up for clearance. Here's the same wheel and tire on our old 210

Thanks Bill, time for some wheel shopping....my 15X8's came from the local cl***ifieds for cheap, but I could use some more back spacing so I can run more tire.

Bill, where in the world did you find all that beach in Sacto???

Everything I have had for the past 50 years has had big-n-littles. Anson said it best.

I have 235/60-15's on the rear of my Nomad. This is on a 15x7 rim with 4" of back spacing. Is anyone running a taller tire than that on a 57 without mods...

All great info, I think I may try to get some 235/70 15s radials for the back of my 56, then go from there!
