I am painting another project, and just don't know what color to go with. I like the dark candy reds, but don't want the extra work that goes with candy paint. If i keep i will chop it. Photoshop, or colors would be greatly apprciated. I really like the color of the car in the picture if anyone knows what it is.
Still have the 57? gonna be at the round up? Im bringing my wife down from AK. ITs gonna be fun. nice look new car by the way! -levi back to topic at hand
Yeah it is still in the family, i gave it to my dad for Christmas. I traded my rzr for the 47. We are planning to make round up, if i can pick a paint color. I just got the garnish mouldings back from chrome, and i am going to do white interior, so i need to hurry up to make it.
Did you try looking into the house of kolor candy base coats? Gives a pretty cool candyish effect and isnt quite as difficult to apply as a true candy. We used it on "the pearl necklace" 57 ford and it came out pretty nice. like a candy the base color you spray will dictate the top coat like a candy so you have tons of room to play with it and find exactly what you want. Looks pretty green in this pic but some others it looks teal and others Blue even. When we got shot for Kustoms Illistrated, i rolled up in the car and Luke said, " man this thing is green? i thought it was blue from all the pics iv seen." so i guess the candy basecoat def does its job. something to look into.
You don't have to do a "true" candy. I'm betting that the first eggplant color is a translucent violet toner with both russet pearl and sunset red pearl in it-- over a black sealer. It's still translucent like a candy, but has a black base so you can't tell how even the color coat is- all that matters is how you lay down the mica. It's no tougher than spraying a metallic.
