Id say its hard to put a price on a job like that because its not in the book. But I would go what ever seems fair and right for what the guy wants done. If you cant do it your self. You gotta fork over the big bucks for this **** to get done. This stuff aint easy. It takes alot of work to be done correct and look right. So its depends on what he wants to pay and how bad he wants it done. Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

One of the hardest things to do is price work like that. Charge a flat hourly rate or you may wind up losing money.

89 Cadillac lights? A billion dollars for poor taste.

If you're truly capable of doing these things, you should also be able to establish a price guide for your own work.

Man, if he can get someone to put in hidden suicide hinges That Work, line perfectly, and don't sag, for parts and labor at 3gs, go for it.I know it sounds like a lot of dough, but it is an incredible amount of work. The amount of bracing it takes to sturdy up the posts and the doors is so time consuming.Make sure you have the the windows(or a pattern)with the tracks in place, and functioning before, and after the install.Good luck.

While you're at it make the hood open the wrong way too. That always makes working on the engine so much easier.

Sorry to be so negative. Maybe I'm in the wrong house. I don't get it.

Caddy tail lights and Suicide doors are SO last year on traditional customs. What ya need is a front hinged hood, a rear hinged trunk, Lambo doors on air cylinders, and KIA Elantra tail lights for the traditional 2012 Kool factor.

Sounds like your buddy is not building a traditional Merc. Reversing the door to make them suicide style will run you about 40 hours x $65 an hour (per door) = $2600 per door just in labor. It's an awful lot of work. Merc doors weigh a ton.

He isn't asking what he should charge, he's asking to see if his friend is getting realistic quotes.

If he really wants suicide doors it might be cheaper to sell the Merc and buy a 46-48 Chrysler...:D Really, it is a monster job to do correctly.

The fronts of the doors need to be altered too since they hide behind the fenders, ill be doing this eventually to the wifes merc if I convert it from being a fourdoor. She likes the rear suicides:rolleyes:
