Howdy Gents, I've been on a long hiatus but today I scored a 37 Ford truck and wanted to show some folks who would appreciate it. I had been waiting for the right time and sure enough it happened. Its a 37 Ford 1/2 ton truck , flathead v8, fairly OG ,6 volt, tractor paint job from some years ago. I got it to run - the gas tank is rotten, the fuel pump diaphram is shot and the carb is leaky but when it runs it just hums right along. Where is all the old dudes, modernbeat ,honest charlie, rost, fat hack etc..? I cant figure out the security token to post pics but I will soon. BB
My favorite early Ford V8 truck in one of the best color combos too! Great piece to find, greater to drive.
Carb kit , fuel pump kit and a new gas tank on order! Cleaned on it some more , runs like a top when provided good clean fuel and not the shellac or rotten fuel and rust! Bias plys all the way round' , everything works electrically cept that rotten tank sender. Can't wait to drive my first flat head around town. BB
One of my favorites for sure! What a great find. Whats up with the 63 Fairlane lurking in the background???
If that 63 Fairlane has a 1 1/2" round chip of paint missing above the right tail light, it might be my old car
Oh yeah I still have the DC , a old Saab and a 72 GMC Jimmy 2wd too... There is a ton more stuff out there , even this !
I rebuilt the carb and the fuel pump , lil engine came to life just fine. Even went for a lil' drive on flat spotted bias ply tires! New tires on order from Coker and the fuel tank is still inbound.....ran on a 5 gallon can in the bed! Come on summer time! BB
I'm still around, though I'm mostly doing race cars that aren't HAMB approved these days. Just got back from Leon, Mexico where I ran crew for my girlfriend's car at the World Rally Championship series event. I've been racing an old '63 SAAB in historic rally. What sort of Saab have you got? I'm in Dallas now. Working for a racing suspension company.
Well I'll be damned , MB ! I'm also building HAMB unapproved cars , the Saab is a 74 Sonnet 3 -V4-FWD-. In fact I was considering setting her up for the rally look and feel . Just finished the V4 build now 2.0L . Good seeing some of the old names around , just seems like yesterday everyone would get on here at night and caling each other "hommie" ! Hahaaha
Wow bro, that is a sweet looker. I love that grill shell and see very few of this model on the road. Congrats on a super score. Flatties rock! ~sololobo~
