Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Jun 27, 2005.

  1. Last years Rat Fink show had a LOT of people, but the car attendance was WEAK as Hell! So, what does everyone think of the new location? Is it going to ROCK or SUCK??????

It might be cool, if Bernie opened the track for grudge races. Please send back pics.:D Sparky

  6. Yeah, last year had the shittiest cars ever! I'm wondering if going all the way to Palmdale will be the final nail in the coffin? I'm sure the weather'll be nice and fucking toasty up there! Moldy needs to network his Party like Gabriel for the Blessing. That dude's EVERYWHERE. Also, everyone's talking about the Rat Fink Show at Saugus Speedway still. So, changing places sure has to hurt it. Plus i heard a bunch of people SHOWED UP at saugus Speedway not knowing any better. Can we hear from those people?

  7. HE's supposed to let us race. What else would be the point of having it there?

  8. i'll be up there. not sure if we're taking the racer or the driver but either way i'll be in the American Nostalgia Racing Assn. booth. stop by and say hi and find out about getting into a class for 'hamber' style traditional hot rods, hamb dragsters, flatheads, inliners, rails, doodlebugs, what ever......

I'm going for sure, I talked to moldy last night for about 10 minutes and it sounds like fun, of course we'll go to race I'm even bringing my mini-bike to try to make a run on it. I'm looking forward to a race oriented show all my cars are too new to race at the antique nationals but I go anyway. they can keep all the regular shows at regular places, I thought you were a die hard Groucho?

  10. I don't know if i'd consider myself a diehard, but at my age and the heat up there, i just might be DEAD! Just kidding, but last years show had such shitty fucking cars...............................................but i'll probably be there. My friend's got a blown hemi in a 32 Chevy he'd like to run up there if Bernie'll let him.

I'll start by saying I could not go last year because I had to work, but I've gone in the past, Moldy busts His ass to throw a show and line up bands and artists and cars then gives the money to charity every year, Yeah We should crucify Him. Who went to the Ant. Nats.? I've been telling Moldy He should have the R.F.P at Palmdale for a long time, after all what could be better than racing? But maaybe I'm all wet, maaybe We all wanna go to a cruz nite and keep are ass glued to a lawn chair, and god forbide a drive outta town, well I gotta a good coolarater in the front of My jalopy but if Palmdale is to far for any of You better go to Bob's in Burbank, and damn sure don't come to Our show in Boron cause that's off the map. Hell I thought this car stuff was supposed to be fun, that's the way it was when I was a kid just fun, now evrything seems to be political. Von Doc

it is about driving your car and haveing fun. maybe his show will get better who knows. i went awhile back and i was ready to go within a couple of hrs. i live about 30 minutes from Bob's and i've only been there twice. i'll go the long distance for shows worth the drive. i've gone to Billetproof (several times) Paso (i lost track) VLV (i've only missed the first 2 shows). i hope this show gets better and maybe i'll go back one yr.

either way i wish him the best of luck. :)

  19. This event coincides with an open track day at LACR, so everyone will be able to race, baring you pass tech, which is pretty lax.I wish I could go, some friends of mine are goin from Fresno. What could be better than runnin your car down the track!!!!!!!!!

It always amazes me that people set up shows like this in the hottest months out there, but hey it maybe a good show.

Of course the registration in the past had PT cruziers on it and if can garantee I'm not watching any PT cruzers run down the track decked out in there nostalgia ratrod gear!

Maybe we can convince their owners to hook up a 300hp shot of nitrous... and then watch the fireworks at half-track.

Okie dokie.. So I'll say somethin'.. Now don't anyone take this personal like. Just some facts here. Long winded too so read up gang.

First of all I want to thank those of you that have already registered and for you that haven't.. well it's the full on count down to the Rat Fink Party, yep July 9th is right around the corner. So far the count is approx. 100 of you that are pre registered and there is plenty more room for you folks that have enuf balls to get in yer ride drive it like it was meant to be driven. jeeezzz I drive up and down that freakin' hill all the time in my 59 .. it's the only thing I got to drive.

Hey is't not that I don't like the valley. I'ts just hard to find a place big enuf for the show to grow in the valley that someone hasn't already claimed as their preverbal territory. I've lost $$$ on this show every year because I've had to turn folks away and I needed to find a bigger place where folks could have some freedom to have some freakin' fun. I'll tell ya Saugus wasn't one of them either. The reason they canceled the show because they did not want our kind. (or should I say the Element)

Yeah O.K. so it may be hot. It's always hot at this show. Can't help the dates cuz I try and work around all the other stuff that is happenin' during' the months of June and July. But I'll tell ya wot it's dry up here.. No Smog, no humidity, Usually a nice breeze in the after noon. And this year you'll have the smell of burinin' rubber and race gas to look forward to.

Here's the thing that kills me. Everyone is worried about the drive and the hot weather. I've taken a count of our annual entries.

Approx. 1/3 of the show comes from the high desert. That means they drive down the hill in the morning when it is cool and then they have to drive up the hill in the afternoon when it's hot.

Then we got approx. 1/3 of the show that comes from all over San Diego, Long Beach, the Inland impire,Bakersfield, Fresno, Oxnard, Ventura, etc.

About 15% come from places like, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Barstow, Victorville etc. For some of these folks the trip to the show this year is actually shorter than havin' to come all the way to the valley.

Anyway that leaves approx. 18.4% of the entries that come from the valley.
Hey I want you guys to come up and have a good time. Think about it! Yeah yer gonna have to get up real freakin' early to get to registration on time but remember it's gonna be early and a cool trip up. Then when yer all burned out from the dayz festivities all you kats gotta do is to coast down hill.

And if'in ya really get burned out. Ya can come over to my place that is only about 3 miles from the track and crash there (remember it's a saturday). I got 3/4 of an acre that is vacant to park yer rides in and if that gets full up there is plenty of parking on the street and all of my neighbors are kewl. I got a real
bitchen cement pond and we are planning an after hours party and BBQ anyway. So yer all more than welcome to come on over after the show and kewl yer jets.

Now if'in I didn't offend you and yer still interested here's some more junk.

Registration the day of the show it's gonna be $ 20 bucks at the gate which gets you and yer ride in, it'll be $ 10 bucks for every passenger.

The gates will open for pre registered and day registration from 7:00am-9:00am so try and be there on time because after 9:30 Gate entry for registration will be closed and the gates will be open for spectators only.

This years entertainment line up will include The Detonators, Three On the Tree, The Southerners, the Deadbillys and Danny Dean.

A few of my crew and I rebuilt the stage so it's save. Oh man should of seen that thing!

The stage is gonna be pointed directly out to the staging lanes.. there will be plenty of seating up front and for you folks racin' instead of sittin' in yer ride, pickin' yer butt, board as heck, waitin' to run, ya can sit there and enjoy tha show.

The staging lanes are gonna be pretty diversified too, ya can either race time only or go against yer arch nemesis in the bracket class. I also got 2 pro lights for anyone that has the balls to try it. Bernie has a new timing device and yer time ticket should have the Show info on it so's ya can save it as a momen'toe of the event. Tec is easy, if yer runnin' over 14.99 all ya need is a lap belt and a puke tank fer yer radiator.

I also got a few guys from the ANRA that's gonna do some exhibition racin' too.

Now for those of ya that don't want to race .. well that's kewl too!

And for you folks that just want to come up for the festivities, General Admission is only $ 10.00 per person which includes parking! Gates open at 9:30am.

Also don't forget we will be auctioning off some great stuff for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation We got over 40 vendors this year featuring extraordinary works of art from some of the finest Kustom Kulture artist's in the industry, you will also find Speed Equipment, Vintage Clothing, and a bunch of really neat stuff to doll up your house or garage.

In addition we got some real nice plaques for the entry winners for both the show and Tattoo Contest and some real nice ribbons and goodies for the folks that participate in the model building contest. Even got ribbons for the kiddies that like to color.

So tell your friends and bring the whole family and don't wine!

I work my ass off to put this show on, and this year it is gonna be a gasser!

Dont sweat them moldy, we deserve to have something here after all these years of driving down to the valley for various shows. I just got my new radiator in and ready to rock, I know its gonna be hot thats why I've decided to not bring my mini bike, a full helmet and leather jacket to make a 35 second run sounds a little like riding into the blazes of hell.
