  1. Guys, guys, guys.......Did you not read my post where I identified the car? IT IS A 1930 CHRYSLER CJ6 4 door sedan that has been converted to a truck.

The V6 Mustang II and Pinto and V8 MII 8in was the same width as an early Mustang (or '64-65 Falcon, or Maverick, etc.) axle but had tubes that tapered down to 2 1/4in halfway out, and had little spring pads. 4x4.25 Pinto/Euro Ford bolt circle, not 4x4.5 like Mustangs, Falcons, Mavericks. Got one sitting in the side yard pending narrowing for a '65 Mk1 Cortina. V8s mostly got very tall gears, mine came out of a V6 Pinto automatic and it's got 3.30s.

8in Trac-Loks are not common but there's better (TrueTrac) LSDs available if you want to spend some aftermarket $.

This one appears to have straight tubes, and the early 4-lug cars had the fixed-carrier 7 1/4in axle, so I'm presuming it's something late '60s onward.

I wouldn't sell it. That's a really cool little truck. put a flatbed or fab a little box and bolt the back fenders on, it'd be pretty cool.

If it were mine I'd chop it, (more realistically, I'd have it chopped), and drive it.

31Dodger, How many Chrysler Models used that narrow radiator shell? I always thought it was a great looking feature, so did my Dad. Didn't the Model 77 have it, are they all the same or dofferent? Bob

    Your car is a 1930 CHRYSLER CJ-6.

As far as I know the 29, 30 have the small reveal radiator shell.

Wish I had those bumpers and brackets that are in the car.
What have you got from the car that is for sale??

31 Dodger is the old Mopar expert. Take it to the bank. He knows his stuff.

If you play around on Google for a little while there is all the info and pictures that you will ever need on 29, 30, and 31 Chryslers. They are all basically the same but there are differences in the radiator shells and the sides of the hoods.

I'd take it! As for the rearend, it looks like a 4 lug Maverick or Mustang 8" to me. You can't change it to a 5 lug without changing the tubes as they neck down at the ends and take a smaller bearing. We hashed that out on the Maverick board a few years back. You could bolt in a 5 lug in it's place though, as they have the same spring pads and use the same center section and yoke.

It could be the premium truck that Chrysler never built! LOL :D

Rearend could be a 6 cyl Maverick. My mom was wangled into buying a 73 Maverick 2dr. with a factory 302 V8. (unsuspecting little old lady) Salesman found a wringer. My mom liked the puckey green with white vinyl top. Had 5 lug. 6s came with 4 lug. Wish I had the car now. Sold it when my mom passed away.
