working on a model a coupe with frame mounted pedal/cylinder and have some questions. how much pedal travel should i have? should the pedal be below the floor (to increase foot room)? it looks like i have to shorten the (adj.) operating rod that goes into the cylinder. to do that i'd have to remove it and cut an inch (or so) off and thread it. if i pull it out, will i lose the fluid?

The lever part of the pedal should come up to the toe board..You can shorten rod to make this happen..No you will not lose fluid..

From your pics it looks like your pedal ***embly needs to be mounted more forward so the first bend will be under the toe board like seb said..... Lay your toe board in and you will see where it needs to go.....
