BTTT for you, in sympathy. I lost mine at the age of 22 in a snow ball fight outside a bar and have heard about every anniversary since and there's been 45 of them since then!

    SAure hope you recover yours.

I lost mine about seven years ago....inside the house here. Cannot find it and it isn't like this place is a castle. Probably hid it so I'd know where it was. Did that with my little Swiss Army Knife with Boeing logo I've had for years....was flying commercial and left it here....somewhere....(play theme from Twilight Zone now).

good luck to you - my wife has what she calls her 'miracle earrings' - she's lost one from time to time...and continues to find it...no matter where/when. Sometimes two weeks later - I'll here her squeal from the bedroom (wow, that sounded like I should have been IN there, huh?) and she'll come out with this tiny little thing - again.

Thanks for the good luck wishes...and the humor. I could definitely use a little comic relief after the day I've had. But I tell you what, I had one heck of a good time at the swap meet... right up until I realized my ring was missing! My hats off to the fellas that put it on.

I lost my wedding ring about ten years ago. I was in the habit of taking it off and putting it in my front pants pocket when I worked in the garage. After spending all day Saturday working on one of my projects I was putting my shop back into shape for the evening when I discovered that my ring wasn't where I put it. Upon retracing my steps and remembering that I'd been to the car wash earlier in the day, I returned to the car wash and walked into the bay that I'd used while another customer was washing his pickup. Looked under his pickup and low and behold my ring was resting next to the drain grate under this dudes truck. A quick explaination in front of his wife and he backed his truck out and I had my ring back. The ring now goes in the top middle toolbox drawer next to the precision files when I'm turning wrenches.
Hope you find your ring back.

That is strangely similar to how mine was lost. I was carring some schocks around and got to thinking they would mar the ring, so put it in my pocket. I would have put it in the left, but had some driver bits in there so thought I should put it in my right. My phone was in there and I suspect the ring came out while I was fishing for my phone at some point. I've been in the habit of putting the ring in my jeans little fifth pocket thing and for the life of me do not know why I didn't this time. Hindsight sure is 20/20.

Sorry to hear about your loss and good luck recovering it. I had a buddy that lost his ring after a night on the town with the guys (use your imagination). He came up with a whopper of a story of how it flew out the car window while he was driving.

When I got married, my future wife presented THREE rings to the priest at the altar, one for dress, one for everyday, one for who-knows-what. I didn't understand it and you should have seen the look on the priest's face. Priceless.

I never wear my ring when doing manual work, which is pretty much every time I'm around the house. It's just too dangerous. My wife is used to seeing me without it, so I can't get in trouble for not wearing it.

Sorry you lost your ring man, my story is a little different. I was working for a John Deere dealer when I got married. The first time I "lost" my ring was in a transmission of a big tractor. I didn't technically loose the ring, it was still on my finger, but it was crushed an nearly removed my finger. I got it off and got it fixed and never wore it while tinkering inside a transmission again. The second time, I was doing something that I thought was harmless, and dropped something. In my attempt to catch the piece, it smashed the ring again, and again, nearly severing my finger... This time, the ring was unfixable, and it now resides in my wife's jewelry box. I do not wear a ring anymore, even though I only do mechanical work at home, as a Paramedic, I responded to prisons, and I have always felt that you do not give the inmates any information about yourself, including marital status....A ring would be a dead giveaway of that free info...It works to my advantage in that area.

Anyhow, I have rambled on enough, hope you get your ring back!

While we're telling stories...had only been married for a couple of months and got into an ummm, altercation inside a bar which spilled out onto the sidewalk. It was raining like mad and I was getting worked over by several drunks and there was a crowd gathering.

Then came one of those surreal moments when everything goes into slow motion, it started when I heard a "ping" and saw my ring bounce off of the top of the storm inlet that I was getting beaten down on top of. It took one hop and was heading for the black hole rushing with water when a hand swooped in and closed around it.

Everything went back into real time and I got hurt pretty good (beaten and pepper sprayed) and spent a night partly and jail and in lots of pain. Mrs. Leevon was out of town but coming back the next day. I didn't know what to tell her about the fight and jail but worse I had no idea where the ring was. Then a friend called and said a guy that we both knew had caught the ring. I went to his place and got it, he told me the story about how he saw it slip off my finger and bounce and he was just there and thought it was crazy too...

Mrs. Leevon didn't know about that until a few months later when somebody recalled the story!

Then a couple of years later I lost it for real LOL.

    Sorry about the ring....

My ring was a touch small when the wife bought it. I told her to leave it alone as I was on a health kick and it would be fine. So she has it sized larger before the wedding. By then it's too big and the first day wearing at work, while hammering on a Lincoln it shot across the shop and into the drain in the floor. After a bit of effort I got it back, and would only wear it out with the wife. I tell her to leave it be again... So as a surprise she has it resized smaller this time and nicely engraved. It is then small enough that I doubt it will ever fit plus sizing it again would damage the engraving so my over priced finger shackle has taken residence in her jewelry box ever since.:D

As VP of the organization that produces the event and on behalf of all the participating clubs and members of the Eastern Nebraska-Western Iowa Car Council, thanks for the kudos. I'll forward your message to the chairman of the swap meet to see if he has heard anything from or can alert the Lancaster Event Center staff. It's a busy place every weekend this time of year - hopefully it didn't fall into a pile of horse hockey pucks from all the equestrian events held there.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your ring .
So..... you haven't told us what the wife said yet about you loosing your wedding ring . I have a different problem with my ring . Since I have been doing a lot of body work , building engines and working on cars I have torn my gold ring up to hell and back . The ring is even bent out of round ! It's got more dings , nicks and scratches in it that I can even count . Yes the wife has seen it but she said , what the Hell have you done to the ring ? I explained how it happened when I have been working on all the cars . She's OK with it because she understands how things happen plus we have been happily married for 28 years now . She lost a diamond ear ring one time that I got here so , things do happen !
Good luck in trying to buy another ring that looks the same as the one you lost !

  23. You know, it's OK to tell us what rare part you traded it for, we won't tell your wife.

Seriously though, I hope somehow, someway it gets returned to you.

Dude, my dad lost his inside the house. He tore the house apart looking for that thing, and of course us kids got the blame. Roughly five years later he was moving and when we pulled the mattress out of his bed the ring was found in a crevis of the bed frame where it had landed after falling from his night stand. So maybe it will show up someday!

No way I'd ditch the wife...it's better to lose the ring than her...which is basically what I reminded her of when I told her I lost it. I think she was more sad than mad at me when I broke the news. That ****s more. It'd been easier if she would have yelled at me!

I did find some good stuff I could've traded for at the meet, but I'm not that big of a spender. My old man (that I had to convince to go) picked up a lot more than I did: two engines, etc. We were both surprised how big the meet was. I hadn't been up since I was a kid and it was still held at the fairgrounds. I think it's grown since then, which is great because it seems like some meets have gotten smaller over the years.

My wedding ring refuses to be lost.

About a year after my marriage I lost my ring during the winter. I wasn't sure when I lost it so I tore the house apart and looked everywhere outside, inside, pulled the seats out of my truck and even emptied the garage into the back lane. (Actually made a few bucks from people thinking it was a garage sale) but no luck. I was sick and heartbroken telling my wife about it. A year later she replaced it as a Christmas present. The following summer my wife was pulling some low slung vine type plants out of the garden and the ring came up with the vine and almost dropped into her lap.

6 months later I lost it again doing yard work. I was pulling hedges out of the ground and going to the landfill with them. As soon as I realized I lost the ring I was convinced it had come off when I pulled my gloves off at the fill. Went back twice and looked for hours. The second time was with my wife... what a trooper. Again, pulled the truck apart... again no luck.

A few weeks later we had a guy swing by with a stump grinder to take out the hedge row of stumps that remained. When he was done I went to landscape the scar on the ground left behind. Just as I was finishing my rake turned the ring up out of the ground. It had actually survived being run over by the grinder !!

My wife isn't exempt from losing jewlery. She lost her engagement ring in the gravel parking lot where we play slow pitch. She didn't realize it until the next day when she went to put them on. (late night game) I went back that day and shuffled around the parking lot for 2 hours. Even had some of the day staff out helping me look. I found it when I sat on the tailgate of my truck to take a break and I saw a glint on the ground about 15 feet from where I had stopped to look. I'm sure I had walked over it at least 4 times. I had a kink in my neck from looking down for days.
