I just did a order with Jamco and after seeing some pretty bad press on here about them I wanted to share how it went for me. I wanted to get some lowering springs and shocks for my 60 Belair. I had read all the negative inputs (along with some posititve) and to be honest I was a bit concerned about doing business with them. But as always, I resereve the right to make my own judgements so I sent Jim (hotwheelz) a pm 2 Saturdays ago along with my phone number asking him to give me a call regarding a order I wanted to make. He replied back that Sunday that he was out of state at a funeral and he would give me a call on Monday. Monday afternoon he called and I told him what I was looking for and asked him what the lead times were on what I wanted. He explained the shocks were either in stock or procured locally and that the springs were made to order and dropshipped to me from the vendor. He told me the shocks would ship that week and depending on the vendors work load ect. it is usually about than a 2 week turnaround. He also said they were quicker on gm stuff and sometimes had it on the shelf. I had a warm and fuzzy after talking to him so I placed the order the following day. Here is where it gets better. The lowering kit was on sale for $70 less than ane normal price and I still got a 10% Alliance discount!!The springs arrived from the vendor the following Monday and today when I got home from work the shocks were here. Exactly 2 weeks to the day from when I ordered them! Jim was kind enough to PM me my tracking numbers at my request also. Nothing but positive feedback for this company from me. Just wanted to pass this along to my fellow HAMB'rs. Todd
I am here to update my recent order with JAMCO. An order placed in early Feb. went unheard of until early this month. That was after 2 voice messages and an email. I was called late last week about my order, and recieved it today. Thank you! It is STILL important that this place builds a better interaction on the customer experience level. With all the bad press they have on here (and other sites), it doesn't matter how big they are, or that they are machinists/builders etc., the rapport HAS to come up. I'm sure there is someone that could answer a phone and field inquiries, if not just for peace of mind for the customer. The customer HAS to stay in the loop, and have an email or SMS update on order shipping, or possible delays.
Good to hear some positive news about jamco. I used their deluxe front spring kit in my 50 chevy and had zero problems, but that was 4 years ago. I was thinking about using them again for another project and was getting nervous seeing all the bad press on the board. Hope to hear more good news.
