Here are a few shots of our families old A hunting wagon. Been in storage 40+ yrs. Uncle is in failing health so I decided to try to get it running ONE MORE TIME so he can drive it. He stored it for all those years so it's the least I can do. All I want it to do is run for a few days/weeks. After that it's all gravey. I have '29 roadster with running drive train I'll slip in here. Should be an easy job. Pulled old engine last weekend w/o too much trouble. Roadster in background of second pic.
Neat old girl bet she can tell some stories. Like the later hubs wheels, tudor with the top cut off is she? Be a bit of fun to turn her into a convert sedan that would get the boys guessing?
Wow, set up for cross steer back then. You may know already: Aftermarket has a great gas tank screen that fits inside the tank. It gets pressed into the shutoff valve, to prevent rust flakes from plugging the valve like many barnfinds do.
Guys Got engine swap complete and now working on front brakes. Rebuilt master cylinder and now have fluid up to the rubber brake hoses. Took rubber hoses off and they are completely plugged with what looks like grease. Never run into this before....is it possible the fluid has decomposed the inside of rubber so it's now plugged??? That's the only thing I can figure. Will replace with new rubber hoses but was just curious as to what caused the goo in the lines. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Well....got motor swap done and took for short test drive last weekend. Had to rebuild front brakes but they seem to be working. Unfortunately....my uncle is down to his final days and not likely to see it run. I've sent pics which he has enjoyed.
Looks cool. You did a lot of work to bring joy to your uncle in his last days. Good man. Didn't know you were hanging out here. Does Cathy know?
