I'm trying to finish out my shop- little by little... heres some shots from last night the office will have 2 levels- a studio upstairs thats not framed up yet theres a room on the main floor for jolenes industrial sewing the metal shop/tool room and the paint booth have been done for a few years... I've been doing this a piece at a time. but I really needed a front room to keep customers from walking in the front door and right into a shop. its a mess- shits uprooted... I have to keep working my ass off to pay for this but it RULES I feel like a hook and bobber sometimes - heres the pics... I had to add one of the hot rod too... there are some really cool BIG windows going the office- and french doors from office to shop were gonna finish it off so it looks really industrial-
Tuck, I understand. I am still trying to get my floor coated (with all my junk still in the garage), rewire, install new lights, fix the sagging roof joists, etc, etc. But in the end, this post will ultimately be a lot of "DANG! I wish I even HAD a garage! I work on my cars out in a rainy mud-pit two feet deep!"
haring one of the coolest things I heard was Larry Alexander telling me about painting cars in a garage with a DIRT FLOOR. I started painting in this shop with a dirt floor... it was good to hear- at one point I was painting in the fall with a big "plastic" bag/Fan/ and a rocket heater haha. whatever it takes- it just cant happen all at once unless you borrow some big money and DO IT. im just really excited its coming together so I posted some pics of my MESS Tuck
I did a labor trade with the contractor who's been a friend for over 20 years- its working out slick for both of us the materials add up quick- Tuck
I keep looking at the pictures tyring ot scope it all out...I CAN'T believe it's finally happening... I would suggest a small window near the back so you can get a bird's eye view of what the outside looks like when it's "inspiration" time...know what i mean... I am still in awe... tok
not like my "shop"--- but a customer shop... place of business... it has to be nice- its like one big tool that needs to be set up right in order to function properly... I used to paint in a 3 car garage- that was a step up from the plastic bag dirt floor rocket heater haha. The first thing I paid for was cement and a welder. from there on all I did was buy tools- I remember how cool it was to have my very own paint shaker. it was like the coolest thing in the world. hahahaha. -hey you guys are welcome up anytime.. but ill throw a open house when its buttoned up... hot rods dont take up alot of space. they RULE Tuck
Looks like things are really coming together. I'm reminded of the dirt floor shop I had in 1965. Man, that was a long time ago. My current place is a palace in comparison. Just keep at it you'll have your dream before you know it. Frank
Damn dude It seeems like i was just there at your shop!................... you boys in Canada get shit done!................ hahaha
In the late sixties + I knew a guy that was a nationaly known painter, & he painted year-round in a plastic-covered 2x4 frame on a dirt floor. Funny cars, fuel dragsters, customs, rods; metalflake, flames, candies; he did it all. What did he use for heat in the winter? A WOOD STOVE!!! This was in Roswell, Ga. - his name was Max Thompson. I always envied his son in high school he drove a custom-painted AVANTI!!! ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver" Easy on the Giggle Cream!

Ok, so I'm not Tuck--this is Button. You wanna know the best part? I have my own space too--the little room in the back is my "sewing room"--upholstery, that is! Well...I need to get a machine still--but we'll see how it goes! You know a guy loves you when he's willing to part with precious shop space for his honey...awww... -Jolene
Im the thief!! but i traded it to Tuck for his hemi, he needed the intake with water ports on it. So we swapped hemi 6x2 intakes!
thank god we did... I got that 6X2 from pistonbroke and didnt realize it didnt have water outlets untill it was bolted on the hemi. Titus saved me by tradeing- as he has later heads. I spent about 8 hours on that one log sanding and polishing it- now to finish the other. hey Krooser you guys ready for IOLA? I'll give you a call when we get into town. Tuck
