There is so much knowledge on this forum that I am sure someone here will know the answer to my question.

I was just watching the HBO 2 part shows about George Harrison. I saw that he was a great friend of Eric Clapton who we all know is into hot rods. I also was struck by his friendship with Formula 1 great Jackie Stewart. That made me think that George was a bit of a motor head. That all got me thinking about the CD cover of "The Best of George Harrison" where it looks like George is sitting on the front bumper of a highboy deuce coupe. Was George into hot rods and/or whose deuce is that?

    Just wondering.

Not sure about the coup, He was a car guy though. He had some great cars, the famous Mini Cooper, an Aston Martin DB5, Maclaren and some race cars... wouldn't suprise me if he hat a hot rod too.

Harrison's main automotive interest later in life was Formula 1. I met him at the Australian Grand Prix in 1985 and got the chance to chat with him on a couple of occasions over the course of the event. A real down to earth guy who just happened to be rich and famous (and a hell of a musician).

gnichols, you could have a rat fink again, here is how we made ours, find an old decent vintage mens hat, remove lining, wet hat very good, slowly stretch over a small wood post, for the genny pointy look a small item like a wood broom handle is best. You must have the hat very wet and go slow or it will tear. When living in Santa Barbara , Ca., I would see Jeff Beck driving a red 32 roadster around with his friend Seymour Duncan, of Seymour Duncan guitar pickups, I understood Seymour stored the car for Jeff, and he would use it when in town. ~sololobo~

I wonder, why nobody did find the Harrison Rod on the web.
Since about 30 ys the car is in germany. Half of this time it is owned by a friend of mine.
You can read all about the car her:
    http://www.hot-rod.de/
Problem: you have to translate it :D.
But you can also find a do***ent, that says, thar Mr. Harrison was the owner of this car.
So: for all speculators, it´s true.
This 32 Ford has been owned by George Harrison.

Patty Boyd. Harrison wrote "Something" for her. Clapton wrote "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" for her.

He was also friendly with the head of Wolfe Racing out of Montreal I believe. He used to come to Montreal for the F1 race. I remember reading a short bio about him on some ancient album cover and it stated that he was into cars. I cried when I heard he died for what might have been. He didn't suffer fools lightly. He was the TRUE musician of the Beatles!

They lived together for 5 years as husband and wife, separated, and were divorced after 10 years.
