I got this 54 a few months ago to do some custom stuff with. My 57 is a little too nice to modify so I figured I can do whatever I want with this car and it wont bother me. So far the plan is to put in a 390 with 700R4 transmission and as far as what I'm going to do with the body. I have a lot of plans, but we'll see how that goes.

The other 54 Fleetwood is my buddy's car.

There was a 59 390 with a 59 transmission already in the car when I got it.

But that got pulled out to clean everything up.

This is the rebuilt 1961 390 that will be going back in.

A little bit of the chrome has already been removed and filled in

After not touching the car for almost two months I did some work on it tonight. I made some new floor pans and started smoothing the firewall(of course I decided to do this after I painted it and made it look nice...) I'm going to work on new metal for the firewall tomorrow...it's a little late to be cutting up and banging on metal tonight.

I got a little bit done today. I pulled off the fenders so I had better access for the firewall and for when I put the motor in. I really didn't want to, but I think it will make things easier later on. Instead of doing a completely smooth firewall like I was going to I decided to just fill in the openings and leave the body lines so it looks more stock. The best kind of custom work is the work that you don't notice. I didn't get very far on it, but I'm going to try to finish it off tomorrow.
