mustang t5 in s10 t5

will the gears of a mustang t5, swap in the s10 trans case? already have a mustang one but i need the chevy pattern.

 

I think they might. One of the things I think you have to make sure to carry over is the plastic oil scoup on the back of the OD gear, it has to match the tailshaft that it came with. Also your input shaft will be different than the s10.

 

You need to go the other way and put the S-10 tailshaft on the Mustang box. The Mustang should be a World Cl*** box, the S-10 is a non world cl***. I think the bearing supports and a few other components are different.

I am in the middle of changing the gears from a mustang NWC into a s10 NWC gear box so far so good can keep you posted if you like.

As long as the type is the same you can do it. Non-World Cl*** For T5 internals into a Non-World Cl*** S10 box = OK. Putting World Cl*** Mustang T5 internals into and a Non-World Cl*** S10 box = won't work. But you can put the S10 tail housing on the Mustang box.
