The 58's are 9". They are basically the same as the standard ford, only difference I believe is spring pad location.

The larger 58 Edsel Ranger?? was based on the Merc platform & the bolt spacing is 5X5". I removed on in a s**** yard so I could run some 5" BP wheels.

Yep they are. I think if they are citation/corsair they are probably a little wider than standard ford but would still be worth getting.

A '60 wagon will have the first of the newer style 9" with 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. All '59s will have the earlier smooth back 9" with 5 on 4.5" pattern, the '59 wagons having the big bearing style. The '58 Corsair and Citation were based on the Mercury platform and will have a wider rearend with 5 on 5" bolt pattern, the '58 Pacer and Ranger were based on the Ford platform and have the Ford sized housing but also with 5 on 5" pattern I believe.

Er....if it really is a 1960 Wagon thats probably worth more than the rear end - they only made 59 of them!

IF memory serves, production stopped in Feb of 1960.

Three models years, but production was only from Feb 59 to Feb 60.

    59 Rangers are 5 4 1/2 bolt patterned 9 inch

Get that wagon and any all chrome from the rest of the cars.

Also, don't p*** up the kick *** Edsel Valve covers and any marker/tail lights.
The grilles are obvious keepers and a complete front clip will get some one that much closer to building a RanchEdsel.

But I would definitely grab complete cars if you have the space

Edsel Ranger and Pacer were basically Fords. Corsair and Citation were basically Mercuries. In those days Mercury was a larger car that shared little with Ford. Station wagons were all Ford based.

ranger and pacer were on the small ford based ch***is and had 5 x 5 bolt pattern..as did all edsels in 58 even the large ch***is ones . cosair and citation, that were based on merc ch***is. 59 had 9" rear too but 5 on 4.5 pattern.

I JUST took mine apart today..they are the same width as 57-59 ford but the ford had a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. 58 edsel had 5 on 5. 59 edsel same as ford. Ill go out and measure....o.k., i'm back. From flange to flange where the backing plates bolt on it is 55 1/4"
