Never thought I would see the day
    When I hauled home, a Model A
The wait was long, and I lost faith
But the light shined, and now I can play.

^ failure at being different ^

Haha, anyway. Ever since I built my FE 352 with a 5 speed behind it and didn't end up using it. I have been looking for something, anything to put it in. So here I am 3 years later browsing craigslist and looking at mid 60's ford trucks, because they are pretty cheap in rough condition, and they are something I could have settled for. But when trying to type in 1961 Ford I type in 1931 Ford on accident. And lo and behold there is something there in my price range. Expecting to see a complete rust pile. I see exactly what I have been wanting for the past 5 years. 1931 Model A Tudor. SWEET! And its only 20 minutes away, even BETTER!

But the posting is like 3 weeks old. Probably sold it by now. Call him anyway, he still has it. Go and look at it. The slight rust through in the floor and p***. side wheel well isn't nothing I can't handle. Has all the bodyparts except for the grill. Interior is gone though. But hey, It has everything I want. He also showed me his yellow A 4 door sedan hot rodded with a blown 350 chevy. That thing was awesome.

Go back couple days later(today) and buy it. Had no troubles getting home, actually chatted with a guy that pulled up at the gas station about it and he showed me pics of his Vicky and 30 something chevy hot rod.

Anyway, plans are highboy, put my 352 in it, nice finished interior and exterior, with highway gears. (Tired of having big old trucks that hate anything over 35) 2" chop, don't know how much I'm gunna lower it yet.

Updates are a little ways off. Got a 2 projects that are nearing completion that have to be done first.

But hey, threads are worthless without pics.

Awesome find. Please tell me you're running the fenders.

Thanks. Nope, I think the fenders are staying off of this. When I drove my 43 around with the fenders off while I was working on it. I thought it was the coolest thing seeing the wheels turn. But, I'm not set in stone yet. This is my first hot rod and I'm gunna run it the way I like it. Fenders or no fenders.

  10. Congrats , keep us posted on your progress!

  11. Great combo, and I love Ford-in-Ford. Tudors are cool, with enough room for friends.

  12. Nothing quite like the rush you get driving down the highway with your latest score in tow.

Haha, I dunno, It looked pretty cramped with just me sitting in it, and I'm skinny.

    Don't come home without one!

    How can you tell?

Yep, I think I spent as much time looking in the rearview mirror as I did looking forward.

No problem with fender-less hot rods either.. I drove a T roadster without one a couple years ago so I can relate with seeing the wheels turning and all the mechanics at work.

    I don't blame you. ;)

Late 31 due to the idented firewall on the p***enger side, that started in May of 1931.
