Primer question

    Have a 53 chev trk going to take it down to bare metal then should i use filler or then spray sealer or ncp 271 on it then filler and prime it and seal it going back to the original color for a cruiser .
    Im using ppg products that i can get .

    Plastic sticks better to primer than bare metal...try these guys for good paint at reasonable prices www.smartshoppers.com

    Hey Curbdogs,

    I've never been a big fan of putin' plastic filler over sealer or primer....

    Ya run the risk of adhesion problems up the road, espiecally if ya over
    catylize the filler, against a theratical rust protuction, that you'll
    probably sand through workin' the plastic.

    PPG is a pretty good product line to go with.

    You always apply filler to bare metal. If put over paint, it will only last as long as the paint/primer with hold. You can apply glazing puddy over primer.

    Do your filler work first. Then prime it with a self-etching primer. Apply the etch on the bare metal, not the filler. Then hit it with a good primer surfacer. After blocking a few times, hit it with sealer.

    Thanks for the input on what i should do .. i got it down to bare metal so now i get to see how good my patients is ..
