I have known about this car for awhile but the PO was on the fence, off the fence for years on if he would sell or not. While I was looking for something to replace my 31' I ran across a cl***ified ad for this car, I called the PO and a deal was struck. I now own a 1952 Lincoln Capri! The car has 64,000 original miles, updated power windows, 12V, SBF w/ a C4 automatic, and new interior. Threw some cheap wax on it today, WOW that is a lot of sheetmetal to rub out!

I would love to see some pictures of other Capris if anyone has any. Anything in a mild custom would be great.

Those are simply beautiful cars. Lucky you.
I know this is heresy on the HAMB, but I'd vote for not customizing it much, if at all. They're just so sweet as is. Lower it a bit and drive the heck out of it.

X2. They are just about perfect as is. How about another car to customize and you can drive this one all the while? Gary

They have sweet lines, just lower it and have fun this summer.

  17. Lower the back just a hair and drive it.

Don't "Customize" it just to do it.
Customizing is supposed to improve the look/lines, and you just can't beat what you have.
That Capri is Awesome, I just drooled on my keyboard.

Just drive it for awhile. Keep notes about what you don't like about the car. The only "bad" thing about one like this is constantly hearing "that's so&so's old car ain't it?"
Still I would have to think long and hard before I changed a thing.

This belongs to a HAMBER. Also a real nice white one from Hammond, In, but I don't have any photo's of it. Stu

Lower it in a bit and get some fatter whites, '57 lincoln premier caps would look good too... but most of all drive it. Will you have it at Lane this year?

I agree with 90% of you guys. The plan for this year is to just play with hubcaps, a few little acessories and roll the hell out of it! Now over the winter could be a different story. I think a certain 429 CJ I have would really put some kick behind that 4500 lb beast!

Yeah, either myself or the wife will drive it up to Lane for sure. Great Caddy, by the way.

If you already have your mind made up, why do you ask? Putting in a bigger motor doesn't make it custom. It won't be a sled until you actually customize it.

Thanks for the guidelines on what makes a custom, I thought some $19.99 chrome valve covers could get me featured on the cover of "Rod and Custom"!
The purpose of the bigger motor is to make it go not to make it show.

Thanks a ton Mick, that looks killer. I already wanted full skirts (so far I can only find one stocker to customize) and I am hoping to go lower but that chop really set it off. Let see now... where did I leave that hacksaw....:D
