Well it was a long day at the show. My wife and I were class hosts for Custom Coachwork Cadillacs (1942-1959 ) Very hard to take pictures this year because of the number of spectators. It was interesting to see the Edsel Ford Sports car back again all restored by RM Auto. They did a great job. But I liked it better unrestored when it was owned by Bill Warner They also had the first Ford Cobra produced although It must have been raced because the fender wells were flared. All the pictures are at: http://www.jalopyweb.com/ Cadman
Damn I wanted to go pretty bad and knowing Bruce's cobra was there and I missed that makes me want to kick myself in the ass a little harder!
JJ: Damon and I went and looked at it for you. Cadman: thanks for the pics. I, too, really liked the Edsel Ford car. The other car I really liked was the (forgot the name) car built by the gent that invented the cv joint. vic
Great photos, thanks for sharing. The Edsel Ford car makes me want to design in the lower side panels on the boat tail roadster I am attempting to build.
Thank you Jack When you are working the show you don't get to see all the cars. Your pictures were great...
Amelia is definitely a bucket list experience Went a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Now I have to get to the West Coast for Monterrey.
Hi Rick Followed your A.H. thread ..nice job.. I did a similar thing when I lived in Mass but with a 351 C 8 inch rear from a ...Maverick and a pinto front end..what a mess ... very flared ..fenders..that cracked ..fiberglass..alumnium..hmmm..Well anyway..nice job on your car.... Thanks for sharing your pictures. I had the privilege of helping Bob Coker, the owner of the '54 Buick Landau (he's the old cod with the beard) bring and show that awesome one-off automobile. This was my first time going and has always been in my bucket also. I'm already making plans for next year. Was truly a beautiful day and some beautiful automobiles. http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/54roadmasters/AMELIA 2012/ I couldn't stop looking at the Ford "Zephyr" with the 425 Nailhead. Bumped into Wayne Chasing Classic Cars Carini and he introduced me to it's builder Steve Moal and it's owner Eric Zausner. Eric had 4-5-6 nice rods there. Check the crocodile skin seats.
I never saw that Buick Landau. The cars do move around for awards etc so it's possible to miss some. Does Amelia require them to be in operating condition ?
It was in the L (Landaulett) class amongst the Rolls's and Duesenburerg's etc so had some tough competition and didn't win an award but hey, just to be invited to that show is reward enough.
