I have two options to close up these gaps, I can tilt the radiator back a little and trim up the hood.

The other is to close up the gaps, wondering if there might be a "metal welting" similiar to upholstery welting that could be wrapped around the hood underside and tacked in? I like the idea of a small bead around the hood panel anyway.

Don't want to use body plastic or lead on the radiator cover...any ideas? (going to be a driver) Forgot to mention...the bottom can't be moved back any more.

    Thanks

how do the hood sides fit? if they have a gap of the same size and get narrower towards the bottom, I would CAREFULLY trim the Hood and lean the radiator back a smidgen

but that is just my opinion

  3. Weld or braze a 1/8" rod on the edge and grind it back to where you want.

If your not running hood sides simply move the bottom of the radiator/grille shell back toward the firewall and move the top slightly forward. This should help tighten up the gap on the outside edges and gain a little in the middle.

Since this is obviously a fabricated one piece hood top it just means you f--ted up in measuring or trimming or radiator mounting. Make another one.

Lean the shell back and trim the hood, easiest option. Measure twice ,cut once.

The 1/8 inch rod works but work slow and use air to cool as you go to keep from warping anything..

Would that be because of clearance (fan, water pump etc.) or because the bolts ran out of travel in the holes? If it's the latter, elongate the holes for more travel back.
