Not sure what the width of a stock 36 is. You might measure it and then do a search for rearend data. Lots of posts on here with Ford 9" measurements. I know a 72-74 Mavrick 8" slides right into a 33/34 Mopar.

The 8.8 Ford out of an explorer already has the discs, is usually 3.50 gear, and some are Posi. might be worth checking the length...

Just put a Tri-5 Chevy rear under a 1937 Plymouth, triangulated 4-link, bags and all.

That one is 60", as far as I remember. Fit 5.60-15's under the stock fenders. Sets down to 1" above the ground, aired-out.

If you're wondering about the front, we put a Welder Series universal MII crossmember in, of the 56" variety. Worked perfectly. Highly recommend it.

The mustang 5's were not all Posi, where the Explorer was, not sure what the distinguishing mark was to know, except it should be on the tag...plus explorers are more commonly in the JY....
