well found a 1964 Pontiac laurentian, left a note on the door 2 months ago. well the owner called me up and said she wants to sell here car. little sad to take it from her, as she started to cry when i got in it to drive it home, she is 95 and has had the car since new.
Nice car! I'm glad, too, that this one won't go to the unwashed relatives when she passes, only to be junked out of indifference...
I think that's the same as a Catalina in the states. My uncle had one the same color back in the day. 389, hydromatic. Faster than stink. What power train is in that one and what are your plans.
How could you rip that old lady's pride and joy from her grasp? Picking on a 95 year old like that should get you flogged. On the other hand, at that age she probably wont be able to come and take it back. Seriously, great score, looks like it's in great shape. Frank
the plans for the car is just drive it, i need to do the rear body mounts and slap a coat of paint on it. the car is the same as the Catalina but the motor option were no the same. in the Catalina you got a 389 or a 421 in the laurentian in was the 236 6, 283 or 327 this is the 283. goes OK but i will not win many races with it. just going to keep it and have fun. and as for the old lady she handed in her divers licence the day i bought it, so she has no need to keep it. and beside it is a nice car and i wanted it.
So here is what has been takin up all my time this winter. new motor, new trans, and all new front end. did all the body and paint last winter.
If the lady you got it from is still living you need to take the car to her house and let her see it. HRP
Nice car, did you get any documented history with the car. Maybe a photo from 1965 at Niagara Falls or similar ? Would be cool if she would part with a few photo,s.
She's getting close to 97,,I don't think I wouldn't put it off until the middle of April. Your still young but her days are limited,,go make her day and take some photos! HRP
