It was hard to remove Old Navy from it. It was a great conversation starter. I have met a-lot of people by them just coming up and asking about the doors. Guess ill have to be social now! NAH.

Coleman aircraft towing tractors. They were used for moving B-47s and KC-97s. They had big Buda inline six engines. I was an Air Force mechanic, 47151. They didn't have a steering wheel at each end. The cab was made fron Chevrolet sheet metal. I actually worked on them when I was younger and stronger. They used Group 12 batterys that you had to lift up to the cab. A group 12 battery was about the size of a wooden apple box but much heavier.

I can now offically post to this thread...It's a pretty rust free & straight 54 GMC (orig green on green) 4spd with an open driveline. It's gonna need a little drop, new motor, rear fenders, front and rear bumpers, new wheels/ tires, new tires, etc. I'm gonna put a want ad up for these items cause I know this isn't the thread to do it. Here's right after I picked it up:

Nerf bars would look good on that. Simple out back. Maybe thin and low, contoured around the grill. That would look good with the chrome reverse.

there the same truck'just a year later.

  30. Mine is just a work truck. it's not that low but with a m***ive wrap around 52 DeSoto bumper looks good coming at you. I'm not a fan (not that anythings wrong with it) of artificial coolness like bags and hydraulics

I'm at a cross road in my mind. I have a 55 Cadillac 331 with 58 El Dorado tri-power. hooked to a truck granny geared 4 speed. it is a very good 4 speed tight and shifts like ****er, but..... I also have a rebuilt 12 volt GM 3 speed OD that would not only be fun but increase miliage and cruising speed.

I'm 6 years into this 6 month project. to put the OD in I'd have to Install a new cross member (no Problem) change the drive shaft and replace the 3.0 gears in the narrowed nine inch rear end. plus I need a floor shifter

I've all ready spent over $1900 on this project, counting the price of the truck. Just not sure how much more I want to throw at this money pit!
