So, who is going? Anyone, besides me, getting a space? Stop over and say hello. Look for the primer black GTO. I'll be selling some parts, looking for parts and promoting my upcoming events as well. See you there. This is, normally, the largest and best swap meet in Arizona. don't miss it. Steve
From I-10 exit 59th ave and head north about a half dozen miles. The entrance is on the left about 1/2 mile north of Olive. pretty simple to find this way
I'll be there. Had no idea this one was even going on until Chip filled me in. Glad I heard about it. I'll keep an eye out for a primered Goat.
And fifteen minutes after seeing you drive away I picked up yet another Briggs & Stratton 3hp for another of my silly toys...
I'm an idiot..... I spotted this thing. We usually take a few of these to Bonneville to run around on, and this one's the rare 4 speed. Problem is, I'm 1000 miles from home, and driving a Buick Roadmaster. So, a short while later........ ..... and now..... Here she sits in my apartment waiting until I load her back in to the back seat and head for home. Sorry if this is too far off topic, but, I figured most people would get a kick out of a funny story.
I glanced at that trail 70 as I p***ed by it. Great turn out for the swap Sellers and buyers. I will keep in contact to get those rader wheels from you once we settle up, Steve.
Thanks man. I'm pretty happy, especially after checking Ebay and Craigslist. If nothing else, I think I could double my money in a week or so. As is, I'm just going to take it home. These things are a blast at Bonneville.
That they are. I may have to fuel it up while I'm here, and go explore some ghost towns.... Fat guy on a little bike!
Heck Chip, I could probably just take it down the sidewalk to your place from here! It'd certainly get some funny looks.
Congrats on your Trail 70 find. As a kid, I really wanted one of those. a few years back at this same meet, I bought a little Yamaha 80, or, at least I think that is what it is. Also have a '71 and '73 AT-1 125 Yamahas. great little bikes. So, I sold some stuff and bought even more than I sold. including a bellhousing, a tire, an alum intake, etc, etc. It was a really nice morning with good weather and I had the pleasure to talk with many. Now, next weekend..... the fair grounds!
I kid you not, Nick Flores, Hot Rod Ron, Myself and several others have ridden many a mile around our area at night on the mini bikes! Always a ball too, with highlights including getting shut down by cops on central, (knew I shouldn't have buzzed through that sidewalk restaurant!) and damn near getting taken out by a wrong way psychotic cutie in my go kart in a dark alley... You know, good clean mature adult fun!
I still have nightmares about that dark shadow speeding our way.... I better get off my *** and get one of these damn things running.
Probably best done this next month. Last one was about a year ago, then everybody got so damn busy that I didn't do another one. The one time that Hot Rod Ron and I did the long haul, the goal was the George and Dragon which was within sight at the time the local constabulery interrupted our fun. We are going so far off topic right now, lets talk about this at the Royal on Thursday over drinks and give Applekrate his thread back...
Good plan. Sorry Applekrate, I look forward to actually talking to you at next weeks swap, if I don't make another big purchase I don't need!
No worries. After more thought, I also bought my first Schwinn Krate, a 1969 Apple, at this same Glendale Swap meet around `1989. Still have it too. That is where my name here comes from. If you were a kid in the 1968-1973 time frame, that was the ultimate bicycle. Never had one as a kid but, got one later, know own 4 but, that is another story. We will have a space at the fairground swap to promote the Nostalgic Show & GO!, which is 2 weeks from today. But, I will not be at the swap on Saturday. Am hosting another car show this Saturday the 24th in Maricopa, will be there at the fair grounds on Sunday though, 1 week from today.
