Projects Diamond in the rough... 1954 Lincoln Capri

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by bekjoy, Sep 17, 2011.

  1. Bek, I wonder if Ford Aerostar springs will fit the Lincoln, they fit the Ford and Mercurys and drop the front end by 2". You're doing a great job on it, I've been subscribed from the start. Merry Christmas.

Ok, im sorry if i missed something, i didnt read all of it...Just the first page and last page, But why does the car always have one fender on it? first page it was the driver side now passenger side. Sorry just thought it was a little funny.

um well to answer that question.. when we got the car the person who owned it before had pretty much taken everything apart and threw the bolts and everything it to a container or the ground so when we got it we honestly don't know what bolt or screw holds it on so they were placed on the car just for pictures because they are bare metal along with the rest of the car. also the inner fenders and where the radiator support is is suppose to be all one big piece of metal that help holds the fenders on but they previous owner once again.... cut them all up so the fenders are really just barely hanging on... does that make sense and help a little?

Here is some inspiration for ya... this is my buddys 55, this is the one that he had fun tracking down a few little things for, but in the end turned out pretty damn nice! he tried to make the lincoln a little more user friendly with a SBC with an auto..

Sorry I haven't updated in a while... now that its getting warmer. I want to get stuff rolling! last week we brought a lot of stuff back to the house from a friends house including the original valve covers, back seat and a couple other things. I have also bought a few things. Progress is slow because the man is working on his car to get it suitable to take to the drags.. and I don't mind that either.

well i read the whole thing great job was going to ask you how you pull the front fenders and steel trims off but if your was already pulled apart would be a bit hard for you to tell me.

i have 2 1954 lincs one 2 door 1 4 door just started work on them but yours looks like it was in a much nicer condition to start with.

Keep going i will be watching to see how yours is going.

Nothing new lately, We just got a 50 olds that we are trying to get done for our wedding in a month. So the Lincoln has been on the back burner but she will get there soon!.. Will post pictures of her when I can.

And I know this picture is not of the Lincoln or the olds but its one our engagement photos and I thought some of you might enjoy it... We took them in the back of a junk yard where all the old rusty cars were...

X2! Looks like a picture from the late '50s. Also looking forward to progress on the old Lincoln.

Bekjoy, I've got one myself, I'll try to get some photos going. Still evaluating her, trying to decide just how I wanna do this beaut, but man, is it ever cool. Have fun with yours, I'll let ya know what my overall plans are for her when I know. Doubt I;ll change much, she's so cool now....
