anyone know where I can look for fully splined shaft stock? I am in need of a piece of 6 spline X 1.125" OD X 12" long fully splined stock. all the stock I find on the internet is precut to 8" or less? someone must produce longer lengths or maybe one of you know where I can salvage the same size stock from an old tran, vehicale or farm equipment? Paul
Try Gary Schroeder, he was real helpful when I needed a short driveshaft. Same folks who make the steering gear.
One end splined 12" http://www.baumhydraulics.com/product.php?productid=27089&cat=0&page=2 fully splined 10" http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/HUB-CITY-Splined-Shaft-15V713?Pid=search Call Bearings and Drives
hub city shows 10 inch. I'd contact them to see if they can make a longer one to order. http://catalogs.hubcityinc.com/farmrev/splinedshafts.html
Go with a HAMBer, Da' Bomb made a new steering shaft for me............... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=615086
thanks for the info, I also found a few comapanies that deal with hydrolics & PTO's that sell the full splined shaft at 10", unfortunatly I need 11.125" for my final size. I will email them and see if they can do a 12" cut? Paul
