OK I did a search and didn't find anything.
I am putting a fresh 292 in my 56 f-600 - It has sit for 20 years or so. The radiator was over half full of coolant . I was gonna take it to one of the local shops ( there are 2 ) But one says it'll be at least a month and I'm a little leary of the other guy.
I kinda was thinking of cleaning it up my self.... I do have a fin rake and fin pliers, But what's the best way to clean it out?
I even considered using " foaminator " on the out side of the core. ( its for cleaning air conditionr coils and works bad ***)
I'm looking for advise if ya got any.... thanks

In Australia they used to clean radiators by connecting them to the exhaust pipe of a car and letting the exhaust blast them clean.

I worked in a rad shop years go.For the old radiators that were obviously plugged up we would hot tank it in our chemical solution, clean it,pull the top tank off ,then run up and down inside the tubes long rods the shape of the inside of the tubes . It would clean them out for sure, then we would re solder the tank back on,back in the hot tank for a final flush and clean. It was clean inside for sure that way. Sometimes its better to pay a shop with the right equipment and experience do it right the first time to avoid problems later. good luck.
