I am in the process of changing the front leaf spring on my "T" coupe. The old spring was bolted to the spring perch using four individual bolts. I picked up a set of u-bolts to put in with the new spring. The directions that came with the u-bolts show them installed from the bottom up. Most of the pictures I have seen online show them installed from the top side (which looks cleaner in my opinion). Anyway, does it matter what direction the u-bolts are installed on the spring perch.
The U-bolts must have the top section flat on the perch or they will never really be tight. You may have to bevel the side of the hole in the perch to allow the u-bolts to sink down to seat the top of the bolt.
