My 32 project is getting to the point that I need to make a decision on a steering wheel. I was running a stock 32 but would like to go with either a 40 ford or a banjo. Limeworks offers a 1" smaller 16" 40 Ford steering wheel. I think that extra 1" would be a good thing. Anyone useing it? Thoughts 17" vs 16" I also want the horn where it belongs (center of the wheel) Thanks!

Speedway also offers a '40 Ford steering wheel in a 15''. It fits Ididit and Flaming River steering columns or '69 or newer GM columns. If you are running a stock column, you will have to create an adaptor. It comes with the horn ****on and spring. If you like Banjos, they also have a couple of different styles of those in the smaller diameters. Like you, I think that extra inch or two of room/clearance is a good thing. :) Did you mean extra clearance or extra leverage with the bigger diameter?

I think your roadster is way too cool to have any "off the shelf " steering wheel on it. Especially being a roadster, the steering wheel becomes a focal point, and should be something kinda special.

Sounds good to me. I also really like some of the late '40's -early '50's wheels with horn rings.

Good idea keeping the 32 wheel, it really is hard to find the perfect steering wheel. I've got a lot of grief about changing my steering wheel but I just didn't like the cheap aftermarket banjo that I did have.
